"new art direction" a comparison

So I’ve been looking at the new art direction for halo 4 and it’s starting to look familiar. In my opinion it seems like 343 is evolving the art from halo wars, I know some people hated halo wars, but even if you despise the game you have to admit the concept art and the cinematics are some of the most visually stunning in the franchise.

So here’s the comparison starting with the infamous grunts

Well that’s about all I could come up with, but I personally find it interesting and fitting, seeing as how wars predates even reach on the timeline.

Halo Wars just beefed up all the enemies, didn’t really care for the designs but it had impressive graphics.
