New Armor for Multiplayer?

So because it is shipping with Reach multiplayer wouldn’t it be possible to make and introduce new armor varients into the game?

I do understand that they can’t just do it now on reach but seems this is a whole new disc…

Not to mention the loads of credits left over from 100% armory completion up to the rank of Inheritor.

Ideas/Thoughts? Discuss.

New armour is bieng added to waypoint I believe.

> New armour is bieng added to waypoint I believe.

Oh, well I guess that is better than nothing. I am hoping for about or a little less than the amount of armor we have now, added to the actual armory.

It would need to be retroactively added to the old maps. It is highly improbable.

You can’t add armor into the new maps without having a Title Update that puts all the new armor in the old maps. That’s 9 whole gigs of space right there. Not only would Microsoft not allow an update like that, but that would take so long to code. You would have to recode the entire game.

Besides. As much as I would LOVE them for doing that, I’d rather have them work on the new trilogy. Think of it this way- The more time they waste making more armor for Halo: Reach = Less time they’ll have making new and amazing armor for Halo 4.

You enjoy repeating what everyone else says don’t you?

I promise we will get more armor. Don’t listen to the parrots. All they do is repeat what someone else thinks might happen. This turns into what WILL happen, the story get distorted, and by the time you know it, unicorns will be the new spartans in reach. Because HE said so.

We will get new armor, it will be GRD, and it will NOT take a 9 GB update, that is absurd to even think about. Let alone say and believe.

If armor does not exist in the game, it will have to be added to every map, cutscene, and menu. Stop living in your fairy tale world; while new armor is possible, it is highly unlikely.

You know the only ‘Official’ person who said that was Evil Otto. He even said that he doesn’t even know if he’s correct, and it could be possible, he just didn’t know.

How about this kid, leave the engine code to the people who know their stuff? Evil Otto said,

“It CAN be done, although they will have to release ALL the maps again (campaign, multiplayer) for download.”

You know what that means? You must download 7-8GB of content to unlock new armor. Some people don’t have enough HDD space for this download aswell.

Also, this might come to a shock to your little idiotic mind, but Halo’s game engine (Blam), checks the map signatures and if they are diffrent won’t match you up. So you can’t play with people who had the new armor if you don’t have the maps.

Get out of your little Ivory Tower and don’t be a parrot yourself, the last thing we want is stupid Bnet nubblets coming here and spreading lies, rumors and speculation.

I played Beaver Creek at Fan Expo Canada friday and got yelled at for going into the armory while waiting for a 4x4 match to start.

Not trying to add fuel to the fire but it caught me off guard. Most likely he was trying to prevent delays - but maybe there is some unreleased features in there…

Unfortunately, I have seen a few Bnet kids around. I hope they don’t skew the TU beta hopper.

DW most of them still haven’t realised 343 don’t look at the Bnet site for feedback.

Probably in the November Waypoint update…

But thats the thing:

The helmet was NOT in the game before, it is NOT as of now.

It is being added in somehow.

Now, what IS possible without causing too much memory issues is to unlock all attachment armor varient combos.

For example, on lone wolf, if you look at the dead spartans, you’ll see that some of them have unsable armor peices. Nothing entirely new, but for example, they may have a version of a chest peice that normally has a grenade belt without one, or one normally without one that has one. The operator helmet can spawn without the black thing on it’s forehead, etc.

Also, there was a bug with the last cutsecene that could cause random attachments to spawn on a random helmet, even if those attachments couldn’t be used with that helmet.

I documented these on a b.net thread a while back:

What if the armor is already in there. Just not useable until they activate it with the Title Update.

I wouldn’t be surprised if new armor was added to the Halo CEA disc, so never say something is impossible.

That makes sense too, and is only available on the CEA Multiplayer.

The game itself is only 7 Gigs so I highly doubt that it would be 9 anyway.

It would have been found by now.

Modders had already found every peice of armor in the game before it was even released, and Bungie even said they knew NOTHING about the helmet.

As bungie made the game orginally, if it were already in the game, they would have known about it.

This is what I meant from the beginning. Not Halo: Reach. CEA.
