New Armor Ability: Kick

So this would be a good way to stay clear of the Melee fests close-quarters combat in Halo often turns into. Kick will launch the kicked player a few meters away, inflicting on them a minor amount of damage.

As a bonus if you kick someone out of the map, they get kicked from the game. The AA shows up as a large extra metal boot on your foot.

First off, I have the same problem with this that I have with Sprint and Evade. There shouldn’t be an armour add on for a bodily function!

Secondly, and AA that can kick a player out of the game? No. That’s just really bad.

you mean like what crysis 2 had…not a bad idea buuuuuut…idk maybe

Only at low level play is halo a melee fest so I would simply suggest getting better if you don’t like that gameplay.

In-canon, those 2 was actually make sense. The sprint is done by putting the muscle accelerators or something on temporary override. Armor lock is somewhat similar to sprint. It locks up the shield. See, a Spartan can have as much shielding as he/she wants. But the thicker the shield, the harder it is to move.

I do have an issue with evade though. I just don’t see it working in Canon…

NOPE!!!

First, no AA’s.

Second, could work if holding down the melee button worked as a stronger but slower melee attack.

Now that i think about it, this reminds me of Duke Nukem. His signature boot weapon, 343 could get into trouble for copyright )_(

You mean one like this?.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOlToLUBSBU

Or This?.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZeYVIWz99I

AL overloads the shielding causing an EMP effect. Sprint, supposedly, removes the restrictions on the armour to allow the user to run faster. That is one of the many cases of a poor attempt at creating a canon justification for something that is only a gameplay element.

And I thought crysis is gimmicky, but seriously that would be extremely over powered even as a pickup and to spawn with a god cannon that can make someone leave the game is crazy

Joke thread…

No. Why would you need a module glued to the back of your armor just so you can lift your leg and kick, every spartan already has this ability.

No AA’s AT ALL in Halo 4!

I think you should be able to kick w/o armor ability…

I think a knee to the head or a round kick would be cool if you could pull it off like an assassination…

Horrible… just horrible… I wonder what the original programmers would think of this.

its things like this that make me worry about the future of halo…

the presence of the AA mechanic in Halo 4 is questionable.

Look there will not be AA in Halo 4, it was explained that all that tech died when Reach got glassed, that’s how they explained the reason for nothing like that in Halo CE. Something along the lines of equipment could be there but no chance one of them will be “Kick”.
