For those of you who actually like armor abilities, do you have any ideas for new ones? Here are some potential ideas:
(and some of these are from previous forums that had a similar topic, so i dont take credit for all of these. and for all that I know, some of these might have already been confirmed in the game.)
-Vehicle Holograms: If you have the hologram ability equipped, you will be able to use it when in a vehicle, making the vehicle hologram go straight until it hits a wall, drawing attention away from you.
-Portable Shields: Similar to the Jackal or Skirmisher Shields, you carry around a light shield, which slightly slows you down, but protects you from standard weapons for a while, until it is broken. It could also act as a less powerful armor lock, for when a vehicle is coming, you can use it and it will damage the vehicle, not destroy it, and you would lose the shield.
-Jump-packs: similar to the jet-pack, it shoots you up at a fast speed, but not too high, just so that you could dodge a vehicle, projectile, etc. You would use it twice before it drains and has to refresh, like the evade. This wont take you as high as the jet-pack would, and wouldn’t last as long, but would be faster.
-EMP Blast: identical to the armor lock one, draining shields of all around you, except it is fast and damages the player also. It could be used in close-ranged combat where you are fighting one or more players, damaging all around you.
-Traps (tripwires and mines): you could set up a tripwire in a narrow hallway or a mine in vehicle-populated areas, and you would be notified via kill feed when you kills someone. You would also be able to disarm or defuse the traps, which would take a few seconds, making you an open target. That way, it is a balanced ability.
-Stronger Melee: for a short period of time, your melee attacks would be enhanced and would do more damage. The disadvantage would be that it would unequip your current weapon so you only had your fists. They would be equipped again when the ability runs out.
-Spawn Invincibility: for a few seconds after you re-spawn, you would have extra shields, eliminating the possibility of spawn-killing. They would run out after a few seconds, so that you couldn’t go into battle with that advantage. It would also help if your teammate is standing near a cliff or ledge, and you would die if you spawned of it.
-Anti-gravity: for a small period of time, you could jump higher and run up steeper inclines or walls. the disadvantage is that you would move slower and be an easier target.
-Faster movement: This does not mean running faster. You would reload faster, and shoot faster, ( for at least your standard initial weapons). The downside would be that you take damage faster, so it is even.
-Sprint/slide: the new sprint where you slow down when you take damage, except you have the ability to slide. You would move faster, like evade, and be able to shoot while sliding. You could dodge vehicles, etc. The disadvantage would be you cant turn while sliding, and people can shoot you from behind.
-Extra ammo-grenades: you spawn with extra ammo and grenades. Downside would be Shot-rate would be slighty slower, and there would be a longer pause between consecutive grenade throws.
-Re-spawn point: like the tactical insert. on CoD, you would get to choose where you spawn. Downside to using this, players can camp where it is set up and spawn kill you. Downside to camping at re-spawn point, you miss out on getting other kills.
-Deployable Turrets: like the ones in Halo 3 campaign, you would place one, and it would rotate and shoot enemies. Downside, it can be destroyed easily from behind when it is shooting someone else.
-Duel-welding: Player can hold two small arms weapons at once. (magnum, p. pistol, p. rifle, etc.). Downside, cannot throw grenades, unless you drop one of the weapons, cannot pick up new weapons, unless you drop one.
-Poison Aura: similar to Halo 3 equipment, it would drain enemies health when they are nearby. Downside, you would have to draw enemies nearby by standing in it, which lets enemies kill you from a distance or throw grenades.
