A good idea I’ve come up with is a Horn ability, used to frighten and confuse the enemy.
When activated your armor will emit a loud Horn type sound giving you a huge advantage. For example you could hide behind something while an enemy runs past and you honk your Horn giving them a hell of a fright and while they’re spinning around in panic looking for the source of the noise you come up behind and assasinate them.
Perhaps steam could issue from the joints in your armor when the Horn blasts to give it extra effect visually.
Yes tell your friend that the steam colors would be customizable but most colors need to be unlocked as you progress. Possibly even custom Horn sounds too.
If this was an April Fool’s joke, I’d think it’d be a pretty fun idea. However as an actual, serious, armor ability? Erh… I really don’t think so. It doesn’t really seem like it’d fit in.
Plus the effect would be pretty much entirely wasted on people that have their volume turned down or even muted. They wouldn’t be surprised, they’d just be completely ignorant to it. The steam venting from your armor - if it were to be included at all - would give away your position yeah, but when has that ever been a good thing in Halo?
Not only that, but I can really see people trolling with this ability more than actually using it seriously. Especially if it can affect your teamates as well.
Except I look at my motion tracker first so either way it really wouldn’t fool me. I would probably go deaf thanks to it blasting through my gaming headset though.
I like the distraction idea a lot but think a flash bang or EMP style grenade might be better for the game play. The horn idea would be fun for a little bit but would get old to me…maybe more of a fun forge gag item.
It’s a cool concept, but I dunno. It feels a bit too looney tunes for me.
I’d rather the radar scrambler, flashbang, or EMP come back in some form (AAs, equipment, or otherwise). There’s already a backlog of “distraction” features in Halo, why not improve on one of those instead of creating a new one?
Edit: almost included smoke nade, but realized that was never a Halo feature. Still, same kind of thing.
