New! And coolest! (Grunt Leader Added!)

Edit: Insane Grunt Leader below!

The prophet of Regret is the only leader from the original halo wars we don’t have! Why is he being excluded? Let’s make him!

Special Units:

Honor Guard legion- 3 elite honor guards, one with a sword, two with duel plasma rifles.
Upgrade: Camo

Lich (Halo 4)- Replaces the blisterback, costs 10 population, has a ton of health and shields and decent weapons and can transport any units! It can hold up to 12 population of units.

Drones- One of the prophets powers unlocks drones to be made at the main base. Drones are very weak and cost 2 population. 2 drones are produced per unit and one has a needler the other has a plasma pistol. Upgrade: 1 extra drone. 2nd upgrade: one of the drones in the squad gets a shield

Powers:

Power 1: Engineer Swarm: calls in a swarm of engineers to heal can be upgraded once

Power 2: Prophet’s Will: selected units move faster, capture power nodes faster, collect supplies faster upgraded: units Y ability recharges 25% faster

Power 3: Teleport

Power 4: Drone unlocked at main base!

Power 5: Prophets Rage: A Glassing beam that starts out small but grows in diameter and covers more of an area than a normal glassing beam.
Upgrade: the beams max diameter grows even larger. (There is no delay similar to the hunters beam, but this beam starts in the center and gradually expands outward.)

Power 6: Shade Drop: costs 4 population. This is similar to the bunker drop but it can’t garrison troops. An elite is already inside and the shade will only go away once it’s destroyed. A max of 3 shades can be dropped before the upgrade.
upgrade: 6 shades can be dropped max.

Power 7 Drone Swarm: similar to the sentinel, a massive amount of drones swarm an area for about 30 seconds. Afterwards 3 squads of veteran drones stay behind and can be used. (If population is full the swarm ability can still be used but no drones will be left behind.)

Power 8: Regret’s Condamnation: Wraiths, Banshees, and Ghosts are now 10% cheaper and made faster.
Upgrade: 15% cheaper
upgrade: 25% cheaper

Power 9: Prophet’s Protection: A stasis ability similar to the arbiters mass stasis, however this is used on your own units. You can stasis your units, they won’t take any damage, but they can’t shoot. Also if they’re shot at while in stasis they are healed depending on how much damage is thrown at them. Also stasis units can be teleported.

Power 10: Ultra unit drop: Halo 2 Scarab! 60 population. Has a turret on top and backside. It’s Y ability is a jump ability similar to the reavers. The scarab also has shields and a bunch of health.

and last but not least

Hero Unit: Prophet of Regret. Everyone’s favorite wheelchair warrior! He’s pretty similar to the halo wars version of him.
Tier 1: can shoot 2 Fuel rod canon bolts at a time
Tier 2: Nearby Units become inspired/afraid of him and gain the dying breath ability from Atriox. These units will ignore death and keep fighting they also gain a slight armor increase.
Tier 3: 3 Skitterers now accomplany the prophet
Tier 4: The range of the inspire ability is increased and the prophet can now fly. Also his fuel rod is replaced with a needler cannon similar to the vampire from halo wars 1.

Thoughts?

Since the new leader is gonna be a grunt let’s make him too!

New Units:
Grunt Warriors: Made at the main base, a squad of 6 Grunt warriors can be made. Upgrade: The grunts gain a Y ability that gives them an overshield for a few seconds. Upgrade: The warriors gain 4 more Grunt warriors.

Grunt Squad: A squad of 8 grunts that wield needlers and plasma pistols. Upgrade: Adds 4 grunts to the squad that wield plasma rifles. Upgrade: Equips the squad with jump packs like the brutes jump packs.

Suicide grunts gain an extra upgrade that allows them to run faster.

(Elite Rangers removed)

Fuel Rod Grunts: a pair of grunts wielding fuel rods replaces the hunters. Upgrade: Adds another grunt with a fuel rod to the squad.

Manticore: NEW vehicle that replaces the reaver. The manticore is an anti infantry vehicle that is operated by a group of grunts. The vehicle has shields and resembles the Revenant from Halo Reach. The vehicles main weapons consist of a blue flamethrower and it has a shade like turret mounted to the back.

Vampire: The vampire makes a return! Pretty much the same vampire we knew and loved from the first halo wars. It technically replaces the blisterback but is available at tech 2.

Powers:

Grunt Intelligence: Costs 500 power and 500 supplies. Allows the player to see how much power and supplies the enemy has. Upgrade: Allows the player to see the enemy armies (unless they’re inside the base). The ability lasts around 30 seconds and takes 6 minutes to recharge.

Food Nipple: Heals all grunts on the battlefield. (Or vehicles operated by grunts which is pretty much all vehicles except for shrouds, banshees, engineers, and marauders)

Shade Drop: Shade turret is similar to johnsons bunker drop. Each shade costs 3 population. Upgrade: brings the maximum number of shades dropped from 3 to 6.

Grunty Measures: Allows a small number of selected units to be armed with explosive cannisters. When the selected units die they explode and cause massive damage around them.

Grunt’s Fury: Suicide Grunts rain down from the sky in a selected area and cause mass damage. Similar to Forges scatter bomb but way cooler.

Grunt Legion: Passive Ability: When vehicles are destroyed a squad of grunts jump out to continue the fight.

Manticore Drop: Two veteran Manticores are dropped into the battlefield. Upgrade: three manticores are now dropped. Upgrade: 5 Manticores, 2 squads of fuel rod grunts, and 1 suicide Grunt are dropped.

Displacememt: Hype!

Grunt Numbers: Grunt infantry now gain a shield that builds up based on how many other squads of grunts are around them. For example if two squads of grunts are around one another they would gain a very small shield. But if there are say 20 squads of grunts around one another they would have a much larger overshield.

Grunt Pandemic: The last Grunt in a Grunt squad will attempt to flee the battle and run for your closest base, if it makes it the Grunt squad will respond at full health at your base (similar to the combat salvage ability) works for vehicles operated by grunts too! So let’s say 3 Manticores are destroyed, one Grunt will flee from each destroyed vehicle and if it makes it back to your base the vehicle will respawn! (Note that the Grunt cannot be controlled during this, it simply runs a B line to your base)

Last but not least:

Grunt Mech! The halo 5 Grunt mech is the hero unit. It has a jump pack ability, super needler, and can gen upgraded the sparingly use a blue flamethrower like the Manticore.

Uber Unit: Lich! Replaces the Scarab, the Lich is a huge airship that costs 60 population! It has a lot of health and shields but not all that much firepower. It’s usefulness comes in that it can transports infantry and vehicles around the battlefield. However unlike the phantom the units inside can’t shoot from inside the liche and have to be deployed. The Lich also has a brief invis ability.

Anyone?

Normally I’m opposed to bringing old leaders back, but Arbiter and Forge have been successes. Plus this is very thought out, I really like it!

Sadly there is only one more Banished leader, so I’m lobbying for a Grunt.

This is very well written. There has been other prophets posts that never really took off. I always found phophets to be annoying. Nothing satisfied me more than beating one to death in H2 (I guess that makes them a good villain?).

But as stated in my previous thread. I want a grunt as well.

Not bad but I prefer a Insane Grunt like Halo 5

Its good, yeah, but I doubt that he’d fit all that well with the Banished. The whole thing with the Arbiter being there is that he’s just MAD, so joining Atriox would make SENSE to a certain extent, since the reason he was the Arbiter in the first place was because he’d turned against his own.

I like it. Bringing the drones back is a cool idea. I would be interested in other hero ideas besides the old chair for a San’Shyuum leader. The Prelate from Shadow of Intent would be a new and interesting leader, and would help steer us away from just rehashing old leaders. Besides, (multiplayer = non-cannon aside) why the heck would one of the hierarchs comes back from the dead to join the Banished? Regret is likely partially responsible for Atriox’s banishment. The Prelate post-schism would make sense though.

The Brute Chief isn’t something we have.

No, Atriox and Decimus don’t count.

If Prophet comes back, hopefully he brings Jackals and Drokes with him.

I approve OPs post! Got my support.

Well, there is only one banished leader left and if you look at my insane grunt leader thread, it looks like it will be a grunt.

I think they could have used the Jerome idea and instead used Carter, and the call in of Spartans could have been Noble team, or just redo the concept with them.

Before anything, I would like to add, we don’t have the Brute Chieftan yet, so lets stay tuned for that, hahaha!

I must say though, you’re thinking very creatively with things like Drones, we never saw drones in Halo Wars, and I think I would like to see more drones, even if we’re just adding them in as abilities.
As for the Lich replacing the Blisterback, I’m not sure if it would fit prophet as much as it would fit Jul M’dama, but I love the idea! You’d have to make the Liche gigantic though, I won’t accept a Liche the size of the Blisterback, because we’ve already seen the banished version of the lich, the one that carries in the Banished Bases!

If anything though, I would love to see some sort of twist on the Scarab rather than just adding the one we saw from Halo 2 into this game, you know? I mean, the Banished Scarab looks more like a bulky Halo 2 scarab don’t you think? It doesn’t have the Covenant Scarab look we saw in Halo Wars 1 or 3.
If we’re playing on Liches here, I would actually think that the Covenant could have some sort of Air Uber Unit, you know like the scarab! If we’re going to add a new Uber Unit, wouldn’t it make more sense that the Banished get an Air Uber unit and the UNSC a ground Uber unit?
Just an idea!
Hint hint, Liche Gunship :DDDD

If anything i just still want to know why jackals are just straight up gone, having a kig-yar pirate queen or something of the sort would be pretty cool, the only problem is that while yes the prophet is sick, he just doesn’t really fit the banished theme, since the idea of the banished is they are fighting against the prophets, i don’t feel like a grunt leader will happen (i mean it could but…) this is brutes we are talking about after all, they generally regard the grunts as cannon fodder more then they were under the covenant.

Hell of a list though, really like the idea of the combat model scarabs from halo 2 making a return

We deff have the brute chieftain! Warlord has hammer pull ability and one of the powers is the vortex!

I love the the idea of a Liche gunship! Now all we need is a new UNSC leader who’s Uber unit Ian a mammoth! That way there are uber ground and air units for both the banished and UNSC!

This is a pretty neat idea. I loved Regret in the original Halo Wars and everyone for the most part seems to like all the old leaders. Sure! I’d play as him!

Another idea for the Drone Swarm is for them to encircle a mass of friendly units to draw enemy damage for a brief amount of time while they return fire.

That would be pretty cool!

Like the Hunter Captain’s taunt ability, they force everyone around them to attack them instead?

Sort of yes, but my thought would be that they would take damage for the units they are shielding as sort of like Pokemon’s Substitute move. I think something like this would do damage to the enemy and go in conjunction with engineer swarms, rest drones or healing units like nightingales to briefly give severely damaged units a bit of uninterrupted healing while they whittle down enemy health.
GH

It’ll probably be a grunt. Jakcels and drones aren’t even in the banished and prophets are nigh extinct so I doubt we will see any of those. Bringing back arby made sense since most of his units could theoretically be in the banished. You have to remember this game is still all about the banished

As I said, we get a Grunt leader he will be my main.
