> > Oh, wow! Another decade of games I know inside out you say? Damn dude, thanks! That’s awesome! It’s not like I wanted something new that actually plays like Halo. No! Give me same old same old while 343i makes Far Cry with Halo graphics and everyone is happy! Unbelievably well thought out point ma’ friend. Never seen it before either! such great and welcome contribution to this community mate. Pure written gold right there above me!

> The sad reality of nostalgia is the fact any evolution of a franchise is seen as a negative. The fantasy world you live in where nothing changes and the same game is released every three years with shinier graphics.

> And so were clear, I thought the biggest flaw with Halo 5s multiplayer was the advanced movements such as thruster, charge, and ground pound. Seeing as most of those are not in infinite is a HUGE step up for me.
And another thoughtless comment that uses nostalgia to avoid an actual conversation, bravo again! You guys never fail to to hit my exact expectations. you only forgot to mention “Halo 3.5”, because that’s what we want. A rehash!
Look buddy, I do think sprint, low jump heights and AMM is the death of Halo, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want evolution or change. Our issue is not nostalgia or any other buzz word you wanna use, it’s how they evolved the game. We wanted the series to move into a different more arena focused direction, but got copy cats of more popular titles instead. Of course we old school fans are angry, it has been a decade since we got that unique Halo experience that made us fall in love with the series - and Hi is just continuing that very trend.
Nostalgia is such a cheap excuse on top of all that too. At this point it should be obvious that it can’t hold any ground by its own, but I digress. In fact I have to break a lance for your case: a lot of things are promising indeed! Music and art direction looks fine - love the weapon design especially, Banished are extremely promising, more physics based combat tools? Hell yes! How you can destroy vehicles and chip away armor seems really interesting too. And evolving equipment is what I always wanted since freaking Reach butchered AAs with those goth damn loadouts. The core core gameplay is not there though. That’s why we aren’t happy yet! It might be a good game, but it’s just another shooter. Where is the Halo in my Halo?
Not to mention, there are negatives too. AI is still 343i levels of underwhelming. Also not building upon the sandbox is just a shame man. We could have gotten wild life interfering into the warzone, and they didn’t delivered. Comon! REbalancing mods have shown that dual wielding can be balanced and work, but 343i can’t figure it out? What about water based combat? More multi-faction battles on a bigger scale, space battles, destructible environments, a new more in depth melee system! There are so many ways to actually evolve Halo in completely different directions, but 343i has chosen the most boring way I can think of. That’s our real issue mate, and you know it! Nostalgia? Don’t make me laugh!
