So I was watching Halo Canon’s latest video analyzing the recent trailer. On the last subject, he speculated who the AI could be, and then zoomed in on the chip.
The chip was inverted. It has two dots, followed by D, followed by a dash.
There’s a high chance this is morse code, and would translate to “IDT”.
Before saying who it is, it’s important to remember AI’s have three letters; Cortana is CTN, Roland is RLD, Serina is SNA.
Who is 343i hinting at?
IsoDidact. IsoDidact (or Bornstellar) will be the new AI.
Also, this may answer why Arbiter says “the seeds of our future is sown in his past”, referring to Chief’s Bornstellar geas or something (connecting to 343 Guilty Spark conversation in Halo CE Two Betrayals).
Bornstellar oversaw the re-seeding after the activation of the Halos, but he also studied ways to end the Flood, but failed. Perhaps after the war he found a way?
I think that would be cool.
If nothing else, could they bring back John hearing the UrDidact in his head like in Halo 4? It doesn’t necessarily mean he has to be on the chip. Just though John’s Geas.
However, the UrDidact was composed, so he technically is an A.I now. So I suppose it is possible that he could be put on a chip.
First off- how would the IsoDidact become an AI? Last we heard of him, he was busy living out the rest of his life without the embellishments of Forerunner technology with his family on some distant planet.
And second- how would a hypothetical AI created from the IsoDidact end up in UNSC hands? As I said previously, he was living on a planet off in who knows where. Even if he was converted to an artificial intelligence, the chances of the UNSC recovering it are infinitesimally small.
And then there’s no reason as to why the UNSC would use Morse code for two of the three letters.
The ID code more likely just follows standard AI ID formatting (AAA 0000-0), which would mean that readable character is the very end of the ID number.
I doubt it, the logic from we last heard of him and story would be a giant plot hole if he magically sprang up. I think it’s another AI made by Halsey.
Or it could mean nothing completely. Remember that the trailer was an engine demo, not a gameplay or story demo. To be fair though, it could be a new version of Cortana.
