Recently many companies have come to receive Achilles Armor, so many in fact that the vanilla armor no longer holds as much prestige as it once did. I have played against Companies that are unheard of with the armor and other who are just plain bad. I would like to push for new Variants of Achilles based upon progress. What do I mean by this? I mean that once the vanilla armor is earned the Company can unlock more variants as they progress towards mastery, every mastery completed could unlock a new variant or maybe every few or even every 10 or so.
Any thoughts?
so before i read this i was thinking you were wanitng the variants to be like the helioskrill ones, in which i was going to disagree with, but seeing you suggest variants come from certain commendations and they still are earned i agee with,
Achilles wasn’t really meant to be for good players only though. Just those who invested a lot of time into the game. None of the requirements are ‘hard’ to get. They just require tedious grinding.
Achillies may be hard to obtain, or just a long grind to obtain, but it doesn’t have much value in terms of previous gear
Halo 3 Recon - Bungie’s Armour, given to a select few players, soon obtainable by vidmasters, this left a challenge to obtain it, until it was given out to everyone
Halo Reach - Haunted Helm, Bungie’s Armour again, used by employees again, given to those who achieve max rank
Halo 5 Achilles - Awarded to players who obtain the kill commendations, but with a potential 99 other people along the way
I agree there needs to be some more unique armour that isn’t unlocked via slot machine

Tedious grinding makes it easier to obtain in the long run but good or accomplished players can make kill commendations go by much faster than unskilled players.

I was hoping that 343 would add other armors instead of just Achilles variants for the other commendation sets.

Special armor like this is an experiment by 343 its to show the rest of us who the real try hards are. Its like you’re wearing a big sign that says “tryhard” and we all laugh at you, you think you look cool as funk even though we all know players 10 times better then you carried you through the process and you’re just a wannabe who got lucky.
Achilles is fugly anyway seriously so the jokes on you if you wear it.

If we’re gonna add more armour, please do not tie it to kill commendations, make it for fast core destruction’s.

Achiles set isn’t earned, it is grinded. Completing comendations is not hard, it’s just situational, getting repeated kills with a certain weapon, or killing in a certain style. You don’t get to choose how to kill your opponent, it just happens. You don’t stop in the middle of a fight to think: I should kill this spartan with a Ground Pound, then this one with the Incinerator and this third one with a Spartan Charge. You just do it, without thinking, depending on the situation.
Earning something is working hard for that, like beating the game in legendary. Or maybe doing some hard achievements, like killing a spartan with a groundpound after using a ManCannon or after evading with the thruster. Earning is doing something that is hard to pull out. So “earning” the Achiles set is actually a grind, and adding more of this kind of commendation will only promote farming in warzone, which surely nobody likes. So I disagree, I would like 343i to add ways to actually EARN pieces of armor, not grind.

I like that.
I really think an armor for fast core destructions will bring out the best in people. It will be intense

You just sound jealous haha. You’re talking about skill? You have 50% win percentage in diamond and below.

It’s ungodly horrible.If we get an armor set for Game Mode that means we’ll see some intense gameplay as people will actually play the game properly. If we get a set for assist people will play but they also won’t go for as many kills, just try and down shields or something then run.
I disagree. Every armor pretty much has an alternative. Why does Achilles need one?
I have yet to see an achilles helmet in game…
