Solution, strip everyone of the LASO achievement.
It’s only fair.
( Regardless if you got it without the tank gun or not, YES, strip it from all players. )
-
It would be easier for 343 to do this vs having to rework the coding to filter out who got it the “ Original “ way intended or not.
-
If not, don’t remove the gun and call it a glitch if you didn’t bother setting “ rules “ / disabling achievements when enabling / equipping the tank gun because you chose to rush through development and not bother to polish the game @343.
- Those who think stripping the achievement from everyone is bad, fail to see the replay value and rather argue that its “ unfair “ to those who did the right way, but the ones who did earn the LASO achievement the right way are arguing that it was unfair that people exploited the tank gun achievement to get ( NOT EARN ) the LASO achievement.
343 Industries really cornered themselves and exposed how the developed the game when announcing that they would remove the tank gun.
Those who are saying, 343 should add it as a easter egg weapon like the scarab gun making it harder to get, fail to comprehend how easy the grapple hook makes the game.
Those who say, add the gun as a Skull “ perk “ fail to comprehend the “ Strip the LASO achievement from everyone argument.
I see your arguments or complaints on what Im saying, 343 Industries does too, but when you really think about it, then you see that 343 really shot themselves in the foot with this announcement.

Re-read what Ive said ; No where did I say the player base is to blame.
If so, please point out where.
The blame falls on 343 Industries wanting to “ FIX “ what isn’t an issue in the game, but 343 Industries recognizes that this “ FIX “ has posed alot of issues when it comes to a balanced gameplay experience going forward with future updates… Updates that NO PLAYER has any idea of what that content may consist of.
Long term wise, YES, the Tank gun would be game breaking for something they want the player base to experience as a challenge vs PAST Halo titles where Bungie didn’t have the tools or bother to go back and fix certain game breaking bugs ; Bungie left them in cause they seen the player base use the “ Exploits “ has a “ fun mechanic “.
The tank gun when compared to the Scarab gun is more OP.
The scarab gun couldn’t “ Speedrun “ you the the entire game and you were at risk with killing yourself with it.
The Tank gun doesnt function like the scarab gun with its “ Bloom “ effect and is way more accurate.
Them removing it has to do with “ Potential “ DLC updates later on.
The grapple hook alone is far more OP in the campaign vs multiplayer and you could use the fully maxed out grapple hook to kill any “ BOSS “ in a matter of seconds - minutes on WHATEVER difficulty.
Again, THE PLAYER BASE IS NOT TO BLAME to the the one claiming I am blaming the player base.
The removal of the tank gun is pointless, but if you remove something that players have used to break the game for an achievement that is deemed as on of the top Challenging achievements in any game series, then it is only fair to strip that achievement from all players, resetting that “ progress bar “, ESPECIALLY since the MCC has a leader board for speed running and for some coding and engine limiting reason Halo Infinite doesnt ; This here is why I say “ Remove the achievement from all players, “
If you think that is punishing, then you clearly haven’t seen what bungie has done to punish players back in H2 and H3 prime days for the use of exploits not intended for the game, let alone what other gaming developers have done to reset the progress bar for there player bases.
