New Achievement Ideas

Due to the fact that Halo: TMCC will have 4000 gamerscore, this is the perfect chance to make cross-game achievements. Achievements like Spartan - Kill 100,000 enemies throughout the campaign, or Reclaimer - Finish all the campaign chapters on Legendary alone.

I don’t know, I really like the idea of cross-game achievements. Any ideas that you want to share?

Walk of Destiny - Play through all campaigns without entering a single vehicle (excluding necessary vehicle runs).

Covie Lover - Play through all campaigns using only covenant weapons.

Let’s Find Chief! - Get 100% completion on all four campaigns (skulls, terminals, all difficulties).

ooo I like where this is going… ok well the obvious are completing all the games solo legendary and co op legendary, but more creative would be find a common dinomiator such as a needler(it’s in every halo) and say get 30 kills in each campaign with it. Or what is a gun that is in Halo 1,2,3 but not 4? have people get 39 kills in each with it(adds up to 117).

Get 300 shotgun kills - You just got sarged

^ Dat RvB reference.

There are literally SO many possibilities. But also I’d like to see some cross-game multiplayer achievements.

True Legend (50g)

Beat all 4 Campaigns on Legendary WITHOUT the Bandana skull.

A little something extra for those who can beat Legendary without cheats; that should make the complainers happy, yes? But I still want to be able to earn other achievements (such as mission-specific ones) with the Bandana skull active.

I am all for long-term cross-game Achievements as long as they don’t go too far and become a grind.

100, 000 enemies across the Campaigns is absolutely stupid, but I don’t see anything wrong with anything else in the thread.

You might have a problem with Midnight on Halo 4 there.

4000G is a lot of Gamerscore. I only just cracked 20k so I could use it badly. I like multiplayer achievements even though I know a lot of players don’t like them. So maybe some that have to do with that but not ridiculously hard ones that are more luck then anything else.

It would be entirely impossible to force players to use either all Human OR Nonhuman weapons, because of sections of game like the Warthog Run in Halo CE, any Tank/Mantis section, or missions like Forerunner/Midnight. Heck, even a mission like the Library forces you to at least score one UNSC weapon kill before you can get a PP or PR. You’re not gonna succeed trying to Melee the right Flood to death while getting swarmed that hard.

Here are some of my ideas:

Return of the Pink Mist: Score at least one Needler Kill in Matchmaking on all 5 Engines.

Could you Possibly Make any More Noise?: Complete Halo(CE), Delta Halo, and Halo(3) on Legendary.

A Walk in the Woods: Complete 343 Guilty Spark, Sierra 117, and Infinity on Legendary.

343i thanks you - 343G
Kill 343 Spartans in each game.

Good long relationship - 10G
Kill an enemy with each version of the Battle Rifle.

Brothers to the end…? - 50G
Complete each Campaign in Co-Op.

Outdated? Bah! - 20G
Kill a spartan with each weapon, which has appeared in every game, excluding Plasma Pistol. (Needler, Shotgun, Pistol, Sniper Rifle and Rocket Launcher)

Button masher - 5G
BXB RRX oh hi nostalgia. (Perform a button combo in Halo 2.)

It’s like living my childhood! - 100G
Complete Halo 1 and Halo 2 within 24 hours.

That’s enough for my vacation - 757G
Kill 34343 enemies. (Because everyone “loves” grind-based achievements, right?)

Tank beats everything, anywhere, anytime! - 20G
Kill a Spartan with the Scorpion and Wraith in every game.

Speedrunner- 75g
Beat the CE Legendary campaign in under two hours.

Legends are Not Simply Born- 150g
Beat all four campaigns on Legendary with at least five non-beneficial skulls active.

Feared Across the Galaxy-50g
Win 30 War Games matches in maps of each game. (30 on CE maps, another 30 on H2 maps, and so on.)

Swish Swish STAB!-20g
Single-handedly kill all Spartans on the opposing team as an Elite with an Energy Sword in under 15 seconds.

Protect Me, Cone!-10g
Get a Cone Kill.

Not a Contingency Plan-10g
Earn a Headshot with a Shotgun.

His Past is Our Future- 50g
Discover all Data Pads and Terminals across every Campaign.

Just Truckin’- 30g
Complete all Vehicle-based levels on Heroic or harder earning only Splatters.

Achievements are suppose to be challenging and rewarding. In this case, the difficulty may fall under the lines of being a vidmaster, but it is possible. In addition, I didn’t say it had to be on Legendary either, so the achievement is not that bad. If you know what you are doing and put time into it, the challenge can definitely be accomplished.

Here’s some more:

Guns Only Policy- Play through a campaign of your choosing without using melee or grenades.

Terminal Illness- Find all terminals from each campaign.

I very much like a lot of these.

I’ve set out on these kinds of challenges before.

Halo CE can be done without Covie weapons, but not without UNSC ones (primarily because of the Library’s opening section, and the Warthog Run)

Halo 2 can only be done on Heroic or lower without UNSC ones (as Plasma Rifles/Pistols alone can NOT carry you through Cairo Station on Legendary, and you don’t get Needlers early enough), and can not be done without Covie ones (due to Banshee sections and some Arbiter missions not having any UNSC weapons on them)

Halo 3 can kind of be done with UNSC weapons only, have fun punching through 99% of Cortana though. And it is do-able with only Covie weapons, but difficult and very not-recommended due to a lack of Lasers/Rockets/Gauss Hogs/Tanks on vehicle heavy sections, and the need to jack a Banshee during the Hornet section. The first chunk of the game may seem hard, but Overcharges, Brute Shots, and Plasma Nades make it doable on Legendary.

Halo 4 can not be done without the use of non-human weapons due to Forerunner/Midnight except on very low difficulties. And cannot be done entirely with nonhuman weapons due to the Pelican and Broadsword sections.

Now you can argue that certain exceptions can be made, such as Warthog Splatters, Banshee/Hornet/Pelican/Broadsword kills not counting. But I still don’t think it’s worth an achievement so much as a personal challenge.

I’ve thought of a few more:

AXIOS!:
Kill a Hunter with one Magnum Shot in Halo CE, One Sniper Shot in Halo 2, One Spartan Laser shot in Halo 3, and by making one fall to his death in Halo 4.

The Return:
Re-retrace your steps by completing Assault on the Control Room, Two Betrayals, and Halo(3) on Legendary.

Bug Killer:
Squash some heavy machinery by completing Metropolis, The Storm, and Infinity on Legendary.

The Gauntlet:
Test your mettle by completing the Library, Quarantine Zone, and Cortana on Legendary.

Rock Anthems for Saving the World!:
Rock hard by completing Silent Cartographer, Metropolis, and Gravemind on Legendary.

This ain’t as fun as it looks, chief!:
Rescue Johnson by completing Halo(CE), The Great Journey, and Sierra 117 on Legendary.

I specifically said covenant weapons. Vehicles are not affected. All vehicles are fair game.

It would have to be non-human weapons then. As there are no Covenant weapons in the first 3/4 of forerunner, and only two Carbines in the armory about 1/4 the way through Midnight, which won’t last much farther than the next room. As well, I’ve found you generally run out of covy ammo on Reclaimer shortly after the cutscene with the Librarian.

And even then, trying to Melee a Flood Combat Form to death just to get his Plasma Rifle/Pistol in Halo CE would be a feat even on Easy. At least in Halo 2 you only face the Flood as the Arbiter, or on High Charity where you are surrounded by and spawn with Covy weapons… And in Halo 3 most flood forms or levels with Flood in them give you a ton of covy weapons to choose from.

I don’t do bits and pieces = survive a lethal fall by hijacking an airborn vehicle.

You know the music… = complete “Delta Halo” on easy or normal with atleast 3 non-beneficial skulls on.

…Time to dance = complete the level “Delta Halo” on heroic or legendary with atleast 3 non-beneficial skulls on.

Don’t shake the lightbulb = destroy 343 Guilty Spark without the use of the spartan laser.

How much time was left? = complete all warthog runs on legendary.

Kelly would be proud = complete “The Silent Cartographer” on legendary without using a warthog.

Just Like Starting Over- awaken from cryo aboard the Pillar of Autumn.

To Hell and Back- go swimming and don’t die( because we need something like this).

Acupuncture Training- kill 10 high ranking enemies with the needler in any campaign.

Don’t look at the Lights- complete CEA without turning on your flashlight.

Since this thread is a bit larger and has the same idea, let’s continue there.

Loving the ideas I’m seeing so far.

Forget this! Other thread has a different vibe to it. Carry on!

Lord of the Rings - Destroy Alpha Halo and The Ark.

The Scenic Route - Get on top of one of the maps in Halo CE multiplayer.
