Okay so I tried to invite a friend to the forums but all we get is a page saying that
New account registrations are not allowed at this time.
Any idea when this will change, if ever?

Is the person signing in with their Xbox account? Or are they trying to make a forums-only account?
It lets you sign in if you have an existing Xbox account but going through the invite links does not work at all. I haven’t tried checking if it allows you to create a new account via Microsoft (I assume that works but seems like more of a hassle to join a forum than it’s worth). Yeah just a forum account.

Our forums do not allow independent registration. Anyone signing in needs to have an existing Microsoft/Xbox account.
It sounds like your friend is trying to register via the forums themselves which is not possible. Have them use their Xbox account to sign in instead!

Thanks! I’ll let them know that they’re currently trying to do the impossible. I think we got confused by the badges for inviting users.
I guess that the invite feature and the related badges are either broken or remnants of the old waypoint system then. Weird.
