I think with the ability to catch a ledge and the sliding ability that spartans in Halo 5 Guardians should be able to slide off the edge of a horizontal platform and catch it. Kind of like an easy way to do that in case you need to. Think batman arkham city. It just seems like it should be a part of the game. Its not game chaning but it would be cool.
I didn’t quite get what you mean? Isn’t that just sliding and then climbing?
You mean like sliding over a ledge and then clinging to it instead of falling to the ground?

I mean if im getting shot at and I know I dont have a way to fight back I can sprint and slide towards the edge of a horizontal ledge catch it and fall down to a platform faster then running and falling off. Or if a vehicle is shooting at me as im running and I slide to catch the ledge it will give me faster cover than just running off. Or if the map has falls in it that will kill you (like blackout or ascension) you can run slide and catch to get down to a lower platform faster then running slowing down and falling off. There has been countless times where people die because they accidentally fell off the map because they were running too fast, and i am guilty of that fact too. I cant imagine it to be a big game changer but I would just like to have the ability to do something like this and see how it turns out.
If people fall off the map that’s their problem. I do this too but I don’t want to have an ability to save myself. I, like most others, learn from our mistakes and make sure not to make the same mistake twice. That’s the ability.Leap of Faith or eat your death.
Well if that’s your argument then the ability to save yourself from falling off anything should be taken out of the game altogether. It would add a new ability and therefore new ways to play leading to people possibly enjoying the game even more. The only possibility that can come out of it is a good one. Bungie added the slide ability in Destiny, it’s not game changing or revolutionary but it is definitely a fun thing to do in the middle of a battle to slide in and shoot while heading for cover.
