This AA would work just like the CE flashlight lighting up the area that the players looking.
This would be most effective on dark multiplayer maps since people could be hiding in the shadows and this makes them unable to hide. The balancing part would be that the light makes them visible and a easy target to spot.
The main purpose for this AA would be for screenshots and for infection/flood game-modes such as through the tunnels back in halo Reach.
The AA will appear on the player as either a shoulder mounted searchlight, on the players helmet, or on the underside of the weapon which isn’t recommended since they would have to remodel some of the weapons.
Prom Night Vision makes it redundant. Hardly ever used the flashlight in the Halo games anyway.
I can just turn up the brightness on my TV. If I need a specific armor ability to actually see people on the map, than that map is broken. If a flashlight is truly needed, add it for specific game modes or map it to right on the D-Pad.
I can only assume that you 've never played Battlefield 3? Flash lights in darker areas are like sunlight IRL, it’s blinding.
Yes, previous Halo’s had it, but if you make it an AA it must be more powerful than older versions. This would lead to the whole blinding aspect that I mentioned before.
We don’t need anymore AA’s, especially not flashlights… Or laser sights, or any other gimmicky thing that isn’t needed.
Shouldn’t be an armor ability. Just make it accessible via d-pad.
I have a hard time seeing how a flashlight would be useful in multiplayer. However, I always liked having it in Campaign as it made Spec-Ops Elites easier to spot. As far as screenshots go 343 should just include more lighting tools in Forge.

The flashlight is such a bad piece of equipment for a soldier with multispectral vision.

A flash light to block out the ability to see where you’re shooting can be useful, look to Battlefield for its tac. light uses.
Personally, I’d prefer the flashlight not return.

This.
If it was going to be used in multiplayer, I think it would have to be default for the purpose thy ReaperMC stated: to blind the enemy.

Sorry if it seemed like a COD copy is just thought it would be cool in customs for scary flood/infection gametypes
Why not a low-power light as an aesthetic attachment?

Yeah shoulder mounted accessories would be a good customisation option for our player if they go back to reach styled armour (hope they do this)
^if the above happens it must be active for ALL PLAYERS. Halo=Even Starts.
That last part was a dig at 343.

The accessory will be purely cosmetic.
