Never seeing the DLC maps in Matchmaking

Hi

I have all the downloadable map packs for Halo: Reach. However, I never get to play on any of them through Matchmaking. Once every three week I may get to play on one of them.

Is there a playlist or match search preference I can set to prefer these maps?

I assume the problem is that not enough people have bought them. Maybe a promotion where the map packs where free for a week would increase the number of people who have them.

PS: Search on the forums is currently returning server errors. Please don’t jump on me if there are existing threads on this topic.

The DLC playlist was removed in the August consolidation as it had a poor population and was on probation.

There isn’t a search restriction for DLC sadly, that would require UI changes which this late into the game, isn’t happening.

There has been multiple chances for the DLC being at a reduced price, but people didn’t buy them.

welcome to waypoint and welcome to reach’s flawed DLC your best bet would be to search in a party of people who all own the DLC this should improve your chances.

@The Little Moa we seem to be posting at exactly the same time on all sorts of threads. XD

Firstly, it depends on what playlist you are in. If you are in a populated playlist like Team Slayer, you will end up seeing DLC show up in the voting slots decently often. However, if you play in something like Super Slayer with a lower population, you will rarely ever see the DLC show up.

When I play in the Team Slayer playlist, it generally comes up quite often. I have a number of games on the Anniversary maps, and every so often Anchor 9, Tempest, Temple, and Condemned pop up. Having everyone vote on them is another matter entirely, as it seems that most people prefer to stick to the worst maps(Uncaged, Sword Base, etc) and don’t seem to like the new maps.

Overall, I end up playing quite a bit of the DLC maps.
