Never Happy Fans

so 343 gave us an update but some halo fans are never ever happy no matter what company runs halo theres always one un- happy fan, just give 343 a brake they get constantly moaned at they can’t do everything at once just to make you lot happy.

The main problem is, the game took six years to complete, including a one-year delay, and it still was far short of what a Halo should be. Now, 343 is saying, we need to wait months, or more, to just have basic game functions, from previous Halo games.

Sorry, I’m not happy.

Sayburn,

Are you happy with no change in lag?

Are you happy with no change in getting kicked out of games because you disconnect from the server?

Are you happy with desyncing issues where you are literally behind a wall and get shot?

Are you happy with leveling in ranked and having these things happen to you and get booted, causing you to lose an entire level of hard grinding because 343 can’t get their game to work well?

If you are then by all means keep kissing the 343 ring!

They literally just hit us with a Co-op delay (again), 1 map for Arena and BTB with just basic concept art, gametypes that were staples on launch for past Halos and another dose of give us more time. What’s there to be happy about? Oh are you talking about the junk we can buy?

Halo Infinite: The new normal

Why try to impress people with a bunch of awesome stuff at release, when we can just slowly give them all the stuff they should’ve gotten years ago.

The fans didn’t make the decision to go live service.
While priorities seem to be on employee life/ work ratios that doesn’t explain why key features of the halo franchise (co-op, forge etc) are being delayed while cosmetic items are constantly being produced to maintain the store.

Floyd,

Perfectly said. Add to the fact that Microsoft spent $500 million on this game and what they claim they are fixing hasn’t been fixed.

The only change I’ll give 343 credit for is you can at least get into a BTB now so that you can then get kicked out of it.

You can now at least get into a BTB, have a great game where you are getting triple kills, and then right as you are about to score the flag boom get kicked out of the game losing the 12 minutes you just spent playing.

That’s my story over and over and over and over…

When did you believe it was going to come out?

It astounds me how some people are perfectly content with the bare minimum quality of product. Are you really perfectly happy with a LIVE SERVICE game where we haven’t gotten a new map in 4 months (more than 5 if we don’t get a new map before May), they didn’t even manage to ship the game with Co-Op despite touting how they “learned their lessons” from Halo 5 and had up to 6 years to work on the game, and we had to complain pretty hard just for a damn standalone Slayer playlist?!

You do realize the irony in this statement right? Halo 2/3 were live service games by the loose standards that 343i puts on the idea. Live Service can work, it worked for most Halo games, what Infinite has been doing since release is just bug fixes which is not what a live service game entails.

Unsure what planet your from. But halo 1-5 were not live services.

I mean they used Xbox live but they were full price games. Not free to play with a subscription based model

Basically never. Even if they do release it, I expect it to have issues. Prove me wrong, but I’m gonna stick with their track record.

It’s been this way since Halo 2. I was there on the forums when everyone raged about dual wielding, weapon balance, the arbiter, paid DLC map packs, etc. etc. etc.

Just give feedback and play the game. Gamers, especially Halo fans, only have one reaction: keyboard rage.

So we’re just supposed to accept when things like Battlefield 2042 and Ea’s Battlefront 2 lootbox fiasco happen?

For every person who follows you, you will have two people who won’t. It’s just human nature.

You do realize that “Live Service” is applicable to paid games right?

The fact you lump Halo 1 in with all the other Halos tells me you are unaware of the series.

If Live Service just means them releasing consistent and substantive content post launch, Halo 2/3/Reach, hell ignore Bungie’s golden era Halo 4/5 were also superior live service games.

I just find it hypocritical to say that live service games are bad, Reach had like 3x the content of Infinite at launch lol, was that a “Live Service” game? One could argue that.

No one cares what the label of the studio or parent company is, we just want good games. And yeah, sure, we aren’t owed anything, especially when it’s free, but there is still the desire to have a good game for the Halo IP.

Why defend the studio for delivering only to the level of this new abysmal industry standard of broken launches and delayed repairs? Defending this kind of practice or making excuses on behalf of a studio (which is a brand, not a person) is only ever going to reinforce this downward trend in quality. Do we really want to signal to the studio heads and corporate execs that it’s ok to continue lowering the bar?

Because, make no mistake, they are the ones with the ability to make the decisions that will save or kill this game. All our “moaning” is for the purpose of being noticed by someone on the (most likely community management) team so they can collate that feedback and pass it up the chain. Sure, management may still ignore our feedback, or certain things may be infeasible to prioritize, but the “moaning” has a purpose.

Would it somehow help the game if we all shut up and move on without giving the devs any idea of what our main complaints are? Would “giving 343 a break” do anything other than tacitly endorse the continuance of this exact same cycle of broken launches, minimal investment and predatory monetization?

I doubt it.

I think the main reason for that is people who are happy with the game have far fewer reasons to come to the forums. For most people, these are basically a complaints/suggestions box.

Ok so basically what you want is….

Thank you Mr Staten for giving us some kind of road map.

I’m
Sure it has nothing to do with paid sponsored players speaking out of concern about the future of the game - and the uncertainty the player population drop off had caused.

And everything to do with addressing your fan base and letting us know you were having issues with employees personal lives and work to life ratios being out of whack for the past 10
Months.

Thank you for giving us a peak into the most minimal amount of content you have produced all while showing us absolutely nothing addressing any of the chief concerns your community has.

By gosh, for a company apparently built around the collective fan fare of the halo franchise we are thankful for all you are doing in keeping the game populated and relevant and while your parent company just spent upwards of 60 billion dollars investing in Activision Blizzard, we really do appreciate the fact you have prioritised making these new “head hunter” skins for us to purchase either though the magnificent fair priced store or the upcoming second battle pass over addressing current issues.

And while stating that you have work/
Life issues ongoing directly contradicts the fact you have new content to sell us- we appreciate your hard work and transparency with all this.

God bless you 343i.

If it wasn’t for keyboard rage on forums, tweaks to Reach’s bloom never would have happened.

There’s noise for sure, but lot’s of valid arguments being made.
