Network Latency

I have some time ago forsaken Halo Infinite to enjoy other products and decided to give the
game another shot today. I thought why not. I have played War Thunder, BF3-4 and 2042, MCC, some COD titles and have never experienced any network issue so far. And yet, the moment i hop in the game i see myself playing with a latency so low the digits could be comparated to the brainwaves of a toaster on xanax.

Am i the only one lucky enough to experience this pinacle of performance or is it the now the sad reality of Halo Infinite?

Okay, I’m confused with the above statement. So your Ping numbers are very low, how is that a bad thing?

I guess the sarcasm isn’t transferring here. You have low ping numbers but your getting bad Latency???

Even with the erratic improvement for me in this seasons update, the game still suffers from Rubber Banding and De-Synch issues, which 343 has not (?or cannot or will not?) fix.

My ping times on Xbox One X are now as low as 20 ms for 4v4 QuickPlay and 30 ms for BTB. However if 343’s server selector poos the bed, I can run as high as 100 ms ping times when it picks a more distant servers, but at least with the new “Search Region Local” option, it isn’t as bad as it was before, which made me quit playing.

Prior to the Winter Update, about 80% of the time my matches were up to 250+ ms ping times because the game was matching me in Alberta Canada to a server in eastern Europe, instead of the nearest one in Seattle (NW USA farm) which give me 10 times lower ping times (20 ms QucikPlay < 30 ms BTB).

I have miserably failed at bringing a comical representation of the ping

Nonetheless, my performance was surprisingly good between November and June (going from 30 to 100ms). Now, every time i join, i am met with a 300+ ping. As i have no problem whatsoever with any other games (including MCC), i was hopping that the source might be from the Infinite servers. I could have been unlucky so far and will try further attempts to connect from my current location in Quebec to the eastern Europe server. Hopefully that one remain more stable!

LOL… No problem.

You might want to try changing the “Search Region” option (under Game preferences ) from “Expanded” to to “Local”. That has made a big difference for me and I have not had a game exceed 100 ms, whereas before that most of my games were 250+ ms before that.

Search for “Search Region” on this link and you’ll find all the details:
