This is probably the BIGGEST thing making me not want to play right now. How am I supposed to enjoy playing what IS actually in the game when these things ruin it?
Desync NEEDS to be highest priority, especially once Forge and Co Op are in the game. This has been a problem for WAY too long. Same with the packet loss, ping spikes and jitter issues.
We need matchmaking options. Other Halos offered it and it is the best solution. Firstly allow players to choose their matchmaking region like the MCC. Secondly allow people to choose between prioritizing skill or connection (or a third option for a varied/balanced mix of both) for their matchmaking experience.
Right now the strict skill based matchmaking is ruining the experience as you get laggy games, search times are long and the low population makes things even worse. Allow people the choice to opt in to these sort of systems.

I can’t even tell if there is De-Sync.
80% of my games, it selects a Server in Amsterdam and I have 250+ ms ping times. I’m in Alberta Canada and from playing Halo 5 / MCC, I know the closest server farm is NW USA (Seattle), which has a ping time of 30 ms.
Until I can select and play on a Server of my choosing, the game will remain uninstalled on my Xbox.

Couldn’t agree more. Infinite’s server configs are such a step down from previous titles it’s crazy.
Infinite regularly feels as bad as H2 online felt on Xbox Live 1.0, where we were actually just on peer-to-peer connections. Blank melee’s, instant deaths from packets getting held up and then processed at the same time, rubber banding, watching bullets leave the barrel way after pulling the trigger, rockets just disappearing…
Infinite doesn’t have a hope without aiming and networking improvements. There’s just no way people will want to dedicate large amounts of time to a game that feels technically broken when they’re playing it

I wouldn’t give a single penny to 343 !!!
HOWEVER……I would pay a monthly subscription to be able to chose a local server even if it meant waiting 10 min for a game !!!

You can’t fix matchmaking if the player base is on its last breath. Especially with MW2 (again) out now, I don’t think the search results will improve and the Winter “Update” will certainly not bring the big numbers back.
They should port it to PS5 to get at least some people playing back.

This is the reason I quit playing Infinite.

Well i mean the community tried to solve the pick your server problem by themselves, did pretty well…
To have 343 miss the point entirely and consider it cheating.
Not, hey, we just launched this game, lets make sure we have the server capacity , cause the community cant play reasonable pinged games otherwise.
Worse, they actually had the balls to say, servers cost money, when they have azure by Microsoft for free.

Agreed. It’s definitely the biggest frustration. Never being able to trust your shot to register, etc.
They definitely need to add a “region” selection or something.

This has been a very splitting opinion in the community for a couple years now.
I (possibly surprisingly to some) actually think this is a good idea if done right. I think Halo is one of the greatest franchises ever produced in gaming (even the modern ones), and I want everyone and anyone interested in gaming to have a chance to experience the titles
.
Just put the PS versions a year behind the XB versions in regards to DLC content (not bug fixes), kinda like how XB basically lagged a year behind PS with CoD and Destiny expansions for a while.
