Everytime I launch HW2 this message pops up and says network error, failed to get latest configuration data. Game was working fine before the Arbiter/Jerome update.
I’am playing on win10 I have already uninstalled and installed the game 2 times, I have resetted the game data and I have the latest drivers. I can play on XboxOne without any problems.

Ok thank you. I will try and hang in there. I have faith in this game, it has amazing potential and im a big halo fan, ive brought almost every halo game that has ever been out. If this problem can get fixed illed be so happy and i could finally push for champion. My 2v2 was onyx and now its dimond 5… it just drops out always with both msgs ( NETWORK ERROR ) ( OUT OF SYNC ) i also spend money on in game stuff.
Just happened to my brother and I as well, it plagues this games multiplayer and has been happening since day one.

Yes you are right I miss spelled the gamertag, thank you for answering.
The thing that bothers me is that this has been happening from day one but they choose to release all this new content but can’t even fix the problems that they had from the first season it’s so annoying it plagues this game and makes it not even fun. I have posted my own thread about this so has my brother from the very beginning but they honestly do not care about this game I have not even heard of them even addressing this
The kicker is you call for my Xbox for support and there is nothing they literally can do besides diagnose your Xbox and internet and once they tell you everything looks good on their end they’ll tell you what why don’t you post this on Halo Waypoint and I just laughed so hard because this does not get addressed and ruining this game

I understand you are frustrated and upset. I’m sorry that you were not able to be helped before, but I am here trying to help now.
The first game was developed by Ensemble Studios, and it had plenty of problems.

We are still investigating the problem, this type of thing is difficult. Thanks!
I understand it’s not an overnight fix definitely it’s a great game but it’s really the only downfall the game with the same time so there’s not much room to complain but when it happens in the middle of a match it’s frustrating sometimes

Can you give me more details of the issue you and your brother are experiencing? Also, what is your brother’s Gamertag.
Are you experiencing the “failed to get configuration” error at start up? Or are you losing connection in game?

Maybe a month before that I noticed that, on the PC which won’t get patched, some option settings would not be saved. For exemple, every time I launch the game, it starts with 800*600 display resolution. I hope the two issues are linked …

Can you start a new thread for the preferences not being saved? Id prefer not to muddy up this thread with a different issue.

- Go to the Cortana/ Search bar
- Type in ‘cmd’ and select ‘Command Prompt’
- Enter the command: ‘tracert content.halocdn.com’
And try to download this file through your browser and save it somewhere…

Don’t even try this. I had the same error for a week. Don’t even try contacting Xbox support. Sadly, what you need to do is a PC Factory reset. That was the only solution I found.

I’m not sure why you are telling people not to try respond to my attempts at gathering more information to try to identify the root cause of the problem. I work for 343 and am actively engaged with several teams on this issue trying to figure out why its occurring. Having people verify both their steps to reach the update, and manually download the update through the browser link help identify if the cdn they are trying to reach either has missing data, or that they cannot reach it. It is a possibility that something got corrupted on their install, which your solution could work, but Id rather identify how or why it got corrupted so we can stop it.
