Network Error

Hi
I bought Halo Wars 2 on the Xbox Store, then installed it on the Win 10 PC as well. But since the first day, and even after the update i can’t play online.
Everytime i am on the Start-Screen a Notification pops up which says “Network Error” and that the Game is unable to download the most recent configuration.

So the game is unplayable for me.
Any Advise?

did anyone fixed this problem ? i can’t play at all too since 22/2 patch…

Sometimes having an issue when connection to validation is a more common thing than you think. With the release of the several games over the windows store it has become an even more common problem, anyone who has played on an Xbox has had an issue that comes up where their NAT connectivity has been from 1-3 stages: Open, Limited, Blocked. From what I know Toredo is the validation between your PC and the validation server. Now with it being on a PC platform other variables can come into place, Hopefully it’s just this. To check the issue you first want to go into your Xbox APP on windows 10 and go to settings>Network. From there it will already start the process. If it does show as being blocked, or limited, try the step below.

As far as being able to open ports I do not know and you’ll need to look that up on your own, but on very rare occasions you do need to open some ports in order for it to work properly. I will try to find those if able and post back.

Another thing you want to make sure that is working are certain services on your computer that could also conflict with connectivity. To open services go to your Start menu (Cortana search bar), And type in services. Open this and you need to find Xbox Live Auth Manager, Xbox Live Networking Service, And IKE and AuthIP IP sec Keying Modules. These three services are usually a trigger start on windows ten, however you can set these to start automatically if you wish. To do this you need to go to each service respectively, Right click>Properties>Start-up>Automatic>Apply. They should auto start, if not, simply click the Start and see if that fixes the issue aswell. Please quote my comment so I get a prompt and can check back in on this.

I’ll check the services when I can. My NAT was moderate, even after opening the appropriate ports. But then I installed the Teredo driver (had to do some registry and cmd line stuff to get it to work) and my NAT changed to open. Still didn’t work.

So I’ll try checking the services ASAP. But I doubt it will help, I reset my PC yesterday which reinstalled windows 10 and that didn’t help at all.

I apologies, Some times PCs can be fickle and what they need to get them functioning properly. Ive been dealing with a failure to launch for several days now, barely played when it did work after an inplace upgrade. Ill keep looking into the issue what I can and maybe have a fix. If I can’t find anything, hopefully, we can get something from the devs soon with this update they are speaking about. But I’m sorry that fix didn’t work for you.
