Network disconnect, launching Halo Guardians

Hey guys,
6 month old Xbox One X. It appears when I launch Guardians from this console, it will occasionally kick our entire network offline from our ISP for 10-15 seconds; once it comes back online, it’s fine. It’s also pretty random from once or twice a day, to once a week. I launch Guardians from this console much more often than Netflix, YouTube or any other app, but have yet to have another app crash it (maybe that’s just odds of the frequency of what app I run the most). Either way, my wife who’s now working from home, is not amused with the situation. Anyone else have this problem, or suggest a direction I should take resolving this?
Thx in advance.

Hey Spawn!

So I can completely empathize with the issue because no one likes to lose internet, especially when you’re working from home. My gut says this is something on your network level because if it were game related, we’d have far more threads and angry players after us but I’m happy to help you try to narrow it down! To that end, let’s run through some questions!

  • How is your console connected to your internet? - If you are connected via wi-fi, can you try using an ethernet cable? - How close is your console to your networking hardware? - Can you try, just temporarily, connecting your console to a different network like phone hotspot and see if that disconnects? - Is your networking hardware’s firmware all up to date? Is it recent? If it’s old, might be worth looking into upgrading. Like I said, I suspect this is more network related than hardware/game related so let’s see if any of that helps!

I tend to agree it’s a network issue, or software issue with her laptop since it’s so random, but I figured I’d go ahead and ask just in the off chance someone had the same issue.
I‘m hardwired in with the router 3 ft from the console and she’s running wifi from upstairs and running TeamViewer; that could be an issue in itself , I’m not sure yet. I’m going to start by hardwiring everything, having my ISP check my router, and go from there. I can say that she’s in the office today and I haven’t had any disconnect so far. If I find something definitive, I’ll let you know.
Many thanks Snickerdoodle.
