Nerfing

Hey, just wanted to start a thread where everyone can say what’s needs a nerf, because this game need’s a couople of nerfs here and there

Active Camo, this is just way too good because you can stay invisible even when your walkning and while doing/holding objectives

Binary rifle, it’s almost a one shot kill anywhere to the body, it should at most only kill in the neck and above (this is a skill based game)

Mantis, I get it but why does it have shield, rocket and machine gun, take away the shield so all the hit’s hitting it would damage it

fill up with your own suggestions below

(remember: this is only for infinity not campaign/spartan ops

nothing needs nerfing, things need buffing.

always choosing to de-power mechanics in the sandbox will destroy the sandbox.

The assault rifle and storm riffle are overpowered IMO.

I think the magnum is very slightly underpowered - I would like it see the unsc shotgun range very slightly reduced along with the SAW

Lets be honest. If you nerf one weapon or AA, there will be an inconsistancy between all of them, meaning you would have to nerf them all which kills the Meta.

Same goes for buffing.

well beause all the old things are based on originals from the old halo’s, mostly only new thing’s need’s nerfing, f ex: the sniper rifle (has been in all games) doesn’t need a buff because it’s already balanced, body shot 2 shot’s, headshot 1 shot, while the binary rifle is body shot 1 shot, headshot 1 shot

No thanks.

The best change that can be made to active camo, is that it should be made an ordnance drop or pick-up with the same effectiveness as Halo 3’s camo.

Binary rifle is fine due to it’s rarity, low ammo count and slow reload. If any changes are going to be made to it, reduce it’s ammo count. Otherwise it would become an obsolete weapon with the sniper or beam rifle being easily superior (Both are better than the binary rifle anyway, if you’re good with them).

The mantis is fine as is. It dies pretty quick.

maybe it does but when your team is all new players/cod fans, it’s seriously impossible to take it out

your point about active camo is right, maybe add regenfield to ordinance too, maybe we can get a more halo 3 kind of feel with the game then

In my own opinion. there are only a couple of things that need nerfing.

  1. Incinerator… Take it out of gameplay, halve the damage… do something to make it not have 2 instant kill explosions with a projectile that moves stupidly fast.

  2. Mantis, as much as I love this vehicle it needs to be taken off Ragnorak(sp?), or it needs to be the only vehicle with the 2 mongeese.

Something that needs buffing tho would be

  1. The thruster pack… It is utterly useless… there are a few ways to boost it, but the easiest way would be to double it’s range. The other would be to only have it get rid of half of its charge with a longer charge delay/recharge rate. It either needs to be a great emergency escape, a dodge, or a great movement buff and at the moment it is none of these things. it is hardly a dodge and ineffective against anyone moderately experienced at halo who deals with strafing opponents.

PS. LOVE ODDBALL OMG… oddball was always intense but now oddball feels like grifball with guns (I love grifball) you made it a brand new gametype with the ability to throw.

I agree about thruster. I saw it and was thinking it would be similar to roll. Unfortunately, I used it and just ended up with fireworks coming out of my -Yoink- as I died.

Nothing needs nerfing in this game. Please stop putting up threads like this because you can’t adapt yourself to new tactics and strategies. The Mantis is fine, just hit it with a plasma pistol and jump on board for a rockin’ good time! Oh wait, you idiots don’t think about advanced tactics and then just start threads saying things need to be nerfed. Get out of here and play the game some more. People like this ruin games (look at what casual players did to BF3) and I hope 343 doesn’t take this into consideration. The game is fine as it is.

Active Camo: You’re an idiot if you need a nerf for this. The whole point is for you to be INVISIBLE to the ENEMY while you’re radar CONFUSES them (as active Camo puts a bunch of dots on the enemy radar so they don’t know really know where you’re coming from. Also, when you’re close enough you can see them clear as day. Stop whining and play the game man.

Binary Rifle: Why do you think it rarily shows up and when it does it has such limited ammo? Because it’s a power weapon! Much like the Spartan Laser and Rocket Launcher (both one hit kill weapons), or even the Sniper/Beam Rifle. The Forerunners had more advanced tech than covie/humans. This shows just how advanced they were. This is just fine and doesn’t need a nerf. Again, stop being upset and just play the game with different tactics and strategies and TALK TO YOUR TEAM.

Mantis: I all ready mentioned how to take this out. Close range: Plasma Pistol to disable it, board on and homefree. Or you can PUT IN YOUR HEADSET and talk to your TEAMMATES and tell them to ALL shoot at the Mantis (team-shooting, most to all true Halo players understand this). When you’re an idiot and don’t know how to do any of the above, that’s when you come on here and start complaining.

AR and SR: These are meant to excel at CQC. Try using these at distance and tell me if its overpowered. You kids don’t even understanding the meaning of something being “OP” and just throw the word around when you get raped by one weapon and can’t adjust yourself.

Magnum: Just fine, if you’re accurate and time your shots its just as powerful as the DMR without the insane range.

You guys really need to open your eyes to the kind of crap you’re posting. I’m sorry for being so rude about it, but damn this is what happened to Future Soldier AND Battleifeld 3 and ruined the game for A LOT of people and when you start threads like this, you’re putting the game down a dark path. I’m sure you guys are all low levels but play different game modes and use different loadouts, strategies, tactics. I felt the same as a lot of you did when I INITIALLY STARTED, but after spending more time with it and finding all the little “sweet spots” for the guns, it works just fine and feels as balanced as ever. You guys need to put more time, thoughts, and actual experience into your posts instead of saying: “Oh nerf this because I keep getting killed by it”.
