Nerfing weapons too much=grenade fest?

Everyday I see another rifle getting nerfed for some reason. In earlier builds of the game I saw that it wasn’t really worth it to cross your fingers and toss grenades as your opponent would be able to take your shield off in no time. Now it looks like by weakening all the weapons they are now opening up this lame habit of players relying on grenades too much in order to get kills. So far the guns look reliable and fun to use when compared with Reach and I would hate if landing a grenade was once again the main source of all kills (even most “headshots” were a result of hitting with a grenade first). Is anyone else concerned about this? I laugh with all this talk of weapon kill times when they’ve been less than one second on acount of the grenade headshot combo that is rampant in Halo.

I often find that while the grenades are powerfull, it takes a well placed grenade to be affective. I hope it is like this in Halo 4.

Doubt it, you need a certain tactical package to pick up grenades, so a lot of people will only get what they start with, if your expecting people to just hold there grenades and not throw them because it’s “less skilled” or whatever …

I am afraid that grenades will not be used very often, and the smart player will only use them when appropriate, needed, but yeah doubt that will ever happen. You only get 1 starting grenade I believe, and are only able to pick up Grenades off bodys, ground, if you use the Grenadier package.

On a serious note, they nerfed (from what I’ve heard) grenukes in halo 4, so It should be less of a spam fest.

Take a look at the new Vortex gameplay. This seems to be one of the newest builds and the grenades look insanely nerfed. On my phone so I can’t link it, but there were a couple instances where a reach nade would’ve wrecked the player and instead just took down the shields. A point to make however is that they were stickies, so maybe the sticky blast damage was nerfed. That would give incentive to use frags :confused: Either way I think 343 has put a lot of thought into making nades not as powerful or used as much. I’m not too worried at all.

Checked some more recent gameplays and must admit that grenades look pretty legit. I guess this issue will utlimately depend on the abundance o grenades, which as some have posted here, has more than likely been toned down. Thanks for the positive input thus far.

I know what you are saying- but frankly even when grenades were weak ppl used them to shed sheilds for a quick headshot.

I mean most don’t like grenades as a way to get plains kills while ppl like me sorta lean towards disliking them as a sort of “noob combo”.

I’m not worried either way though since it seems we can dodge grenades easier now (faster movement/jump height)

grenade nerf is confirmed, in more ways than one.

The saw / IC / RL / needler / BiRi all spawning semi-randomly is what you should be concerned about
