To break down what the previous comments so eloquently said,
If the starter weapons were nerfed to oblivion, then why have them at all?
If the power weapons are never being used, only the pistol, why place them on the map at all?

The point of getting the power weapons is that they are more powerful or have uses different from the magnum. Are you implying that the power weapons are neither of these things?

This. If you lose at long range against the magnum when you have the snipe rifle or the DMR, you choked badly and deserve the death. If you are close to a guy and lose to his magnum when you have rockets, you choked badly and deserve the death . BR outshoots magnum, if you lose to a guy with a magnum then you choked badly and deserve the death and so on. Perhaps you are just using all the power weapons wrong?
