Explain something to me. Why is the DMR worse then the pistol? It’s not that I think the magnum needs a nerf, but rather that the DMR needs a buff. Day after day, I’m seeing magnums outshoot DMRs in both close and long range firefights and I just don’t get it. Both weapons are 5 shot kills, but the magnum shoots faster. I would understand the point of the increased rate of fire due to bullet size/recoil if it were not for the fact that it still takes the same amount of shots. I don’t pretend to know about bullet calibers or anything like that, but I do know that TTK on the magnum is about 0.4 seconds shorter that the DMR. I’m also seeing the DMR get outshot by the BR in almost every situation. I find myself getting out my longshot BR in warzone and then looking anxiously at the DMR when I hit 6 reqs. I usually play the DMR out of nostalgia and how great the sound feels but unless I get the first shot, I’m at a huge disadvantage in most scenarios. I want this weapon to be good, but getting descoped by a BR every single time I want to get a kill gets pretty frustrating. I’d also like to point out that I’m slightly better than average at Halo so I don’t just need to “git gud” or anything like that. Thoughts? Suggestions? Haters? Haha really, anything would be appreciated, I just want to know the general feelings of the community.

The DMR doesn’t need a buff, the range just needs to be scaled back a bit on the pistol. Also keep in mind the DMR is for mid-to-long range so you might just be too close in range and thats why you’re out-gunned.
The DMR is sick at mid to longer ranges and has a slightly faster fire rate (i think) than the pistol.
Let me tell you right now, there is not a single weapon in this game that needs a buff. The TTK is already way too fast, and speeding that up any more would make it approach CoD kill times. I think the Magnum is fine the way it is. It’s a good replacement for the BR of old, and fits nicely into the sandbox. If anything, I would like to see the Magnum keeps its kill time but be moved to a 6 shot kill instead of a 5 shot kill. The DMR is already a 5 shot kill and the Carbine is a 7, leaving that 6 spot open. It seems kind of dumb to me to have overlap like that between the DMR and Magnum. This move would also function as a pseudo-nerf, requiring more shots to be hit consecutively, making it hard to get perfect kills.
I like things the way they are, but I get your point. I’ve killed people on the other side of the map many times with the pistol. But then, it’s not easy and you can’t zoom anywhere near as much as with the DMR. At a longer distance, I’d take the DMR over the pistol every time. But at close range, I don’t know.

I actually really like this idea. It makes sense to me to make it a 6 shot as this would increase the skill gap without making it too big that new players couldn’t keep up. It would also allow users of different weapons to have a chance in closer ranges. I also agree that TTK should stay the same if A 6 shot magnum was to be implemented to keep up with the fact that this is a pretty big gun firing susurprisingly big bullets.
