Never has there been a weapon in Halo that gets me and my friends more tilted than the Energy Rifle.
It is basically an automatic noob combo.
I have yet to talk to someone who likes it being on any map what so ever, but we play ranked so we actually like it when the game requires skill.

Halo has been my fav franchise growing up, but idk how much more of this I can handle until I throw all of my 343 Halo games in the trash and just go play Call of Duty… lol

It is extremely OP and only requires a few shots to get someone one shot. They are just as bad as storm rifles, which they have removed from and reduced on many maps. There are some maps like Stasis that have more than one of these. On molten it is literally spawns between the BR and sniper in the area where people generally try to hold down. It just isn’t balanced…
I guess the problem at least for me and many of my friends is that Halo used to be about precision and skill. I mean I like having useful autos, but it is ridiculous.

The Brute Plasma Rifle in halo 5 is absolutely terrible at killing things, but it absolutely melts shields. One of the variants of the plasma rifle however makes it a very damaging weapon. That may have been the problem you were having. The base plasma rifle fits a very specific role of destroying sheilds, not killing.
plus, the storm rifle shreds things, it’s better than the AR at close range but again, it suits a very specific role.

Storm rifle is okay, now… They have removed that weapon and cut down the number of them on various maps. I am referring to the Brute Plasma Rifle, which is almost just as good. In my opinion the gun needs to be nerfed, repositioned, or removed on certain maps.

That’s kinda the point of the weapon. To get you one shot. It’s trash at actually killing you.
Nerf the weapon too much and it’ll be trash at taking down shields too, and then it’s useless.

I do not think a variant of that weapon is on any arena weapon. I am familiar with how it works. You can very easily kill someone with it, but yes it does melt shields. That is why I referred to it as an automatic noob combo.

It has decent accuracy and only requires a few shots to get someone one-shot. I am not saying the gun should be useless but rn it is ridiculous. Reducing the accuracy of the gun or its damage a little isn’t going to make it unviable. I also stated that treating it like they did the storm rifles isn’t a bad idea either. I have never heard someone over live who is ranked decently high say anything positive about this weapon.

Eh, I think on some maps it definitely needs to be removed and on others it’s ok. For example, in molten its location and the map design promote a lot of corner camping where players shoot a couple shots and go for a melee. However, on other maps like coliseum or stasis, I think the corner camp strategy isn’t as prominent and the b plasma rifle works well in combination with precision weapons.

@Bold, which is again, the point of the weapon. Otherwise it’s actually no different than the Storm Rifle. And speaking of Storm Rifles, many were removed, but the ones that still exist now respawn every 10 seconds after it’s deleted.

Please don’t nerf the already nerfed Plasma Rifle, I need it on Mercy. That combo is all the PR has left.

They aren’t that OP IMO… kinda funny how you want to leave a game that may have one weapon that kills to fast in your opinion for a game where every weapon kills even faster… I don’t see to many players even use the brute plasma rifle/storm rifles to often.

I 100% agree with you on molten. Honestly, there shouldn’t be anything like the storm rifle, smg, or plasma rifle on such a small map. If you get two guys with the plasma rifle watching the stairs by control, up by snipe, and lock down bunker I mean the game is over. I do not have an issue with it on Coliseum as it is a very spacious map. However, I think there being two of them on stasis is ridic and very “corner campy”.
Maybe because I’m a… a… how should I put it… hmm… got it… a lowly Gold-Platinum scrub, but I think it’s fine as-is. The only thing it’s good for is a quick burst to break shields for a headshot or melee up close. Outside of that, it’s basically trash.

I mean I respect you, I appreciate your input, and I want to thank you for commenting. However, based off of our ranks and who we have to play against we are just going to have differing opinions about the gun. I still think something needs to be done about its placement or maybe reducing its accuracy to nerf it.

Thanks for commenting and you’re not a scrub bro kids are just sweaty these days and a lot of them aren’t above sitting in a corner to melt kids shields so they can beat you down. This gets to be a real problem on some playlists especially as rank goes up. A lot of them adopt this strategy cuzz they can’t five anyone.
