NERF THE BANSHEE & NERF THE SNIPER FOR HALO 4!

The Banshee
Grossly Overpowered in reach, and was was one of the main reason why BTB was broken for so long aswell as the flawed maps. This Needs to change for Halo 4. Firsly the Fuel rod Cannon need to be nerfed and brought back to the damage in Halo 3, the fuel Rod is a SECONDARY Weapon and should be use for vechials on ocassion rather it being spamed all over BTB. Next the Plasma cannons needed to be BUFFED, at the moment it has the strength of a water Cannon Please bring up the strength of it so it is used as a PRIMARY rather than being a usless feature of the banshee.

Sniper
Almost Garanteed to be in Halo 4, I really have no problem with the damage of the weapon. thats fine. My Issue is that it EXTREMELY effective against vehicals in reach. I Know that the sniper is a High calbire weapon but it outclasses every other power weapon, in terms of overall effectiveness with its improved hit detection a 5 year could use it, and tears banshee and other vehicals to shreds FAR more efffective than the Rocket launcher in some cases.

Make the sniper less effective against vehicals. The sniper is TOO good.

I agree with this. 343 should make sure that the Sniper stays inside the anti-human category and should create interesting and balanced weapons for anti-vehicle purposes.

i will argue, that the sniper does not need a major nerf to vehicles, because as most people will complain about, the sniper rifle is an “anti-material” weapon, meaning that i can and should do decent damage to vehicles

i will say this though, DON’T make the sniper useful against tanks, those thing have armor, they shouldn’t be torn to bits by a sniper’s weapon

don’t you go thinking that i am defending the sniper rifle, because i am not
the mere fact that vehicles are almost made out of paper was a major dissapointment on my side

the weapon that angers me the most though, is the DMR, considering that you SPAWN with an anti-vehicle weapon, opposed to a weapons that has a max of 2 spawn location on any given map

you are very right about the banshee though,

my suggestion is to make it so the FRG on the banshee REQUIRES a lock-on in order to fire, limiting it’s use to vehicles and aircraft only, and for once, i want the banshee to require SOME skill to use, and is not a surefire way to dominate the match

I actual disagree.

I personally enjoyed how vehicle gameplay was more varied in reach. In H3 it was all about laser control. If your team had laser your vehicles were nearly unstoppable. If the other team had laser, your vehicles were useless.

I liked how in reach vehicles actually fought each other and you had to secure/take down multiple layers of anti vehicle stuff.

This coming from someone who played on the best BTB team in reach for the first 6 or so months after launch. Though I will say most people on that team disagreed with my above opinion.

Sure the banshee is a glass cannon, but its weapons are unbalanced. The cannon was supposed to be anti-vehicle, and the machine gun was supposed to be anti-human, but because the cannon is unbalanced, the machine gun becomes useless. This should be fixed in Halo 4. It doesn’t matter how, but the machine gun needs to be the main anti-human weapon, or else it will always be useless.

I think you could replace both the Banshee’s machine gun and the mortar with a weapon similair to a brute shot. This will flip and destroy vehicles vehicles, and will also force Banshee pilots to commit more to shooting at infantry. More commitment = higher chance of getting EMP’d and/or boarded.

I agree in the sense that vehicles were way too fragile in Reach. I also dislike that the players would take shield damage if someone shot the outside of a warthog. I personally think that vehicles should be destructible while you drive, but that players themselves don’t take damage when people only shoot the vehicle itself.

They need to make the Banshee like the Halo 3 Banshee. It was awesome.

That’s a good idea, although it would never be implemented for the Banshee itself. But I could see a newer, smaller “scout” flier capable of this, where it’s mostly for disruption and recon purposes more so than quick kills.

How can something be nerfed that you have no clue on how it will function? You’re basing this off of the Halo: Reach sniper.

But theoretically, we can’t solely rely on an OP weapon to balance out an OP vehicle, mostly because of all the Sniper campers, but also because the vehicle itself should be balanced without outside interventions.

Nope. Regular infantry vs Banshee should not be balanced, the infantry should need to either co-ordinate teamwork or grab power weapons to take it down.

They should really have a cooldown to the amount of flips and rolls you can do in a banshee. Like the energy meter of armor lock or something. Should only be able to do 2 flips/rolls before it goes on cooldown for abit.

My point wasn’t “Infantry with random utility spawn Vs Banshee should result in a tie,” but rather “we shouldn’t solely rely on 1 out of 20 weapons to balance a vehicle.”

In other words, having a powerful vehicle that is balanced by multiple counter-approaches is better than an OP vehicle that can only be killed with one thing. Although, I suppose this analogy doesn’t even apply to this specific topic, because the Banshee is so weak that it can be destroyed by the freakin’ utility spawn.

Um, lol, so what I mean is that the vehicle needs to be balanced between powerful and OP. (“OP” meaning near unstoppable, which can sometimes be the case depending on map design + weapon placement = unbalanced situation)
