I am utterly disgusted that this game is catering to the hold down RT crowd. There is no skilled involved with this weapon. Matches are just AR spam filled with no skill gap. If it isn’t AR spam, it’s legit double melee. The sidekick is an utter joke compared to the AR.
Can strip shields at BR RRR. Too accurate, high damage, headshot multiplier, no drawbacks. Just hold down that RT boys, hold it down and let its majesty do the work for you. Lmao
Where the heck are my precision go tos? Every game mode is garbage compared to Ranked, where how Halo is meant to be played is.
Same thing happened in Gears 5. People complained about being bad not knowing how to wall bounce, and use the gnasher… so they nerfed that to the ground and made it just a lancer fest behind cover.
Congrats noobs, you got your AR starts now watch the game die off and no skill gap outside of 1 ranked playlist with a good precision weapon.
At most, it needs a range NERF, that’s it. You’re supposed to use your melee, movement, grenades and equipment to your advantage, there’s where the skill requirement exists. It’s called The Dance for a reason. You don’t want your basic starting weapon to be too good as you won’t pick anything else up but you don’t want it to be too weak to not stand a chance otherwise. Infinite’s AR is mostly in a perfect spot in my opinion.
It definitely needs an effective range nerf, or as many have suggested, a sort of spread pattern you have to master to use it well.
As it stands, if anything is within that reticule, it doesn’t matter if the bloom is maxed out, it will die.

I can’t agree with this statement btw. You think Reach’s DMR spam was “skillful”? In fact, we have The Spam in Infinite too! It’s the Sidekick, which is the DMR’s little brother with the same style of spam, just no cross mapping capabilities. Go up against any Sidekick spammer with your AR, you will get dropped fast if you don’t get a perfect AR spray on them.
I do think would be good to have AR starts and Precision starts playlists tho.
Noob complaining about Halo being Halo. Did you complain this hard about Halo’s core mechanics in Ce, 2, 3, Reach, 4, 5?
Go back to Gears then if Infinite is such an issue for you, idk why you come around here telling everyone Halo Infinite sucks and imply the game does all the work for you and there’s no skill involved.
I know that the truth “burns” and “hurts” in the deepest of hearts.
HALO players think they are playing quake-champions, when they have their 55% accuracy aim-assist, their one hit meele-shot and their 2 little grenades as a traning-wheel. I would like to see you in quake-champions to observe your 55% accuracy with your “lolcontroller” and to see if you are as diamond as in halo.
Even Gears 5 “head to head” is far more mechanical than HALO.
The gears 5 aim-assist is infinitely less powerful
In Gears you must be a master at wall-bouncing and strafing while shooting
In gears 5 they do not give you “free kills” as in halo
I do agree that this is a complaint about Halo being Halo, so most of it isn’t valid imo. However the AR could definitely use a range nerf.
As it stands it’s just too powerful. It kind of negates the rest of the sandbox.
Right now I feel like I’m playing two different games between ranked and unranked and unless the AR gets a range nerf those two games can never come together. The BR only beats the AR on Behemoth, it can’t compete on smaller maps. For average players this is true at least, I’m not talking about pro play here.
I think a very small range nerf could make the two games into one. And, it makes sense in a real world context that the AR would lose effectiveness against these heavily armored Spartans at longer ranges if you view it as being similar to intermediate caliber weapons we have today.
Even assuming the AR is improved over the current iteration in terms of velocity and penetration it doesn’t make sense for these heavily armored and shielded super soldiers to be dropped so readily at range.
Honestly BR in Infinite doesn’t even feel good as a starting weapon. Anything in Close to Mid just tears you up.
I’ll rather have the Breacher instead since it feels closer to what the BR felt like in H2/H3.
Are you new to Halo? Bringing up melee as an issue or grenades? They’re part of the foundation of halo.
Quake Champions is kind of a bastardised version of Quake. It’s pretty dead now is it not?
Gears 5 still hurts me to think about. At launch it was so brilliant till they ruined it and gave everyone shotguns etc. It was my favourite MP game for a while.
The entire sandbox is broken and Fiesta makes that extremely obvious to me. There is no middle ground on weapons. It’s either “power weapon” or “niche weapon”. Once someone gets a Sword, Rockets or Hammer they go off on a 5+ kill streak. The balance between the ease of use, power, and availability of weapons is off. Not just in Fiesta.
AR starts are fine, in theory. But when the AR is the starting weapon, almost as effective as weapons that are significantly harder to use (looking at you Commando, Stalker Rifle and Mangler) but also significantly easier to use than every other weapon in the sandbox, why would an average player pick up anything else?
343i have raised the skill floor with their aiming decisions, and seem to believe that an easy to use starting weapon is the solution, but in reality what it has done is make the extremely repetitive and, honestly, boring.
