Nerf aim assist or bullet magnetism on the BR

I had things that annoyed me a lot of Halo 5 but magnum duels were a very fun part of the game. When you got a perfect that was the best feeling in the world and it only happened like once, maybe twice in a match if you were really popping off. The BR in Infinite doesn’t feel like that. I feel like I get around 3 perfects a game. It doesn’t need to be some tryhard gun to use but a perfect medal should mean something and it feels way too easy in this game. I could go on and on about the benefits to the skillgap but I’d rather keep it simple. The BR in Infinite doesn’t feel like it has as much depth as the pistol from Halo 5 and therefore it doesn’t feel as fun to master.

I’m not sure what’s going on, but I actually got way more perfects with the H5 magnum than I get with this BR. It literally took me all week last week to complete the challenge of 5 perfects. What system and input are you using?

Perfects in Halo 5 were extremely common

Since when? If they were so common why didn’t you compete? The battle rifle and some other weapons may have been easy but the Magnum wasn’t. After HCS became magnum only starts perfects went way down. People like Frosty averaged less than a perfect a game.

Not everyone who is good at something has to ‘compete’ - and I’m not just talking about myself.

Everyone had to get them for the ‘Whites of their eyes’ commendation as well - I seen plenty of amazing players in Halo that are just as good as the official pros that don’t want to compete, not everyone makes a passion their job.

Although having a look at stats - you’re right, those medals are rarer than I remember haha

Oh, I absolutely agree. I don’t think it needs be super competitive. I just think it should be tuned to be more rewarding to use well. I was only diamond 4 in Halo 5 and far from one of the best but I could really appreciate when I got styled on by an Onyx who was a whiz with the magnum. I actually did some research too on HaloDataHive because I was wondering if I misremembered how hard the pistol was to use.
https://halodatahive.com/Player/Detail/6?team=1113&type=Lan&lan=8
I went and included only LANs then sorted team stats by accuracy from high to low. The most accurate player on the most accurate team of any H5 lan ever averaged like 0.67 perfects a game over 31 games. He had a total of 21 perfects. So it apparently got even harder the higher you go up in Halo 5 to get a perfect. I don’t want the BR to be some super hard gun to use but it doesn’t feel as cool as it used to to get a perfect.

Admittedly my aim needs work, lol. It wasn’t great in H5 either, but I got a perfect usually about once each match.

The Halo 5 pistol was cracked. Literally the go to weapon for anything, making half of the sandbox irrelevant.

I appreciate the sentiment though I’m not sure if I agree but how is your comment relevant here? I’m not asking for the BR to be Halo 5 magnum levels of power. I’m asking for it to not be so yoinking easy to use.

I’m saying the Halo 5 magnum was the hardest weapon to use but basically did everything.

To me, the BR is in a good spot. Decreasing the aim assist ust widens the skill gap unnecessarily.

Played really a lot of matches in halo. BR was my preferred weapon in warzone. I dont see much difference between BR of halo 5 and halo infinite. For me they are nearby the same weapon, same aim assist.
The halo infinite BR is fine the way it is, no need to change it.

Aim assist barely exist, get outta here with that…it has way less aim assist than Halo 3 and Reach for Gods sake. And mind you Halo Reach you had the DMR plus bloom. You had everything against you if you didn’t aim correctly. To have it lower than THAT is too much.

Other weapons maybe but not the BR. This is not barely existing

And that clip was during the flight before they increased the angle aim assist triggers at.

This was in September which I’m pretty sure was the Flight -_-

Did you not read my comment? I quite clearly stated this was during the flight. They buffed aim assist after this. This is aim assist before it got even worse.

The aim assist in no shape got a buff. Ive done nothing but ranked and literally tested this on controller. Not seeing this at ALL

"As a result of this closer look, we’ve made minor changes to the “cone angle” of aim assist on select weapons for launch. To be clear, this is not a change of the “strength/stickiness” of the aim assist, but it should help make aiming feel more natural. A full list of these changes can be seen below:

Pulse Carbine: 4 to 6 degrees
VK78 Commando: 5 to 5.5 degrees
BR75: 5 to 5.75 degrees
Heatwave: 5 to 6.25 degrees
Ravager: 6 to 6.75
Mk50 Sidekick: 5 to 6.25 degrees
Skewer: 4.2 to 5.6 degrees
S7 Sniper: 3 to 4 degrees
Shock Rifle: Turned on hip magnetism "

They specifically buffed how big the angle is for it to trigger, not how hard it follows. It’s still a buff though.

Yup I feel the same. The Halo 5 Magnum should come back

Overall nothing about this game makes me want to try harder to get better. The br is so easy to use.

BARELY???

I’m on controller on PC. I literally don’t move the stick sometimes. That’s how easy it is
