Neon... Neon Everywhere!

If you’ve seen the Return of the Forerunners trailer or the recent Eurogamer Expo Campaign demo, you should know what i’m talking about. The Prometheans, their weaponry, Forerunner structures glowing in the dark, Requiem’s skybox with Forerunner glyphs, symbols, and streaks of hard light all over, this game is colorful.

And that’s what makes this game special to me. It’s a return to form. Colorful and grand environments that give you feelings of wonder and awe that echo the original trilogy. Not only will play like a true sequel to the original trilogy, it will also look like a worthy successor.

Anyone else glad about the art direction and style 343 built into the game?

Hard light.

It’s very alien looking.

I love the variety of colour in Halo 4, and the fact that there’s a new class of enemy with their own weapons. I’m happy with the way it’s going, but I still prefer the Covenant.

I love the differences between all of the weapons, they’re all so unique even though there’re so many. In Halo Reach, we got seventeen weapon, and in Halo 4, we get twenty seven weapons. I’m happy about that.

Lots and lots of variety in this game. I’m loving it. I was getting quite tired of the typical purple Covenant colors and the same weapons. And that’s insane, I never realized just how many weapons are in this game!

It’s been far too long.

As enjoyable as the Earth missions were, it is troubling to find that there was only 1 alien artifact on the planet. Not to mention the few massive Covenant structures: the grav lift for Solemn Penance, AA gun at Voi.

It would have really felt alien if there was a stronger Covenant presence. The occupying forces were so minimal it did not even feel like an invasion.

Halo 2 and Halo 3 were so short in their depiction of Earth. I find myself wishing the Earth missions had been in a spin off like ODST and we get more Forerunner/Covenant locations.

i like it a lot. very visually stricking.

I’m impressed with the new art direction they are taking. It’s colorful, vibrant, and incredible to look at.

I fell in love with 343i’s art syle and color pallet the moment I laid eyes on the first screenshots released.
