NeoGAF & Other Communication Failures

Last night there was a complete failure on the lines of communication between 343i and it’s fanbase.

Certain individuals who work at 343i run around posting Halo 4 information all over the NeoGAF forums. First of all, I have to ask. If you have something to tell us, why not tell us on the official Halo website?

Second, these posts on NeoGAF cause huge panics. Last night the community was under the impression we’d receive a Sparkast with some Halo 4 information and a new Halo Bulletin. There was no information in the Sparkast and the Bulletin just didn’t happen.

There was no official word from 343i at all yesterday and the forums went rampant. They got really nasty, and were completely unmoderated throughout the whole ordeal. Near the end after everything had settled down one moderator at least made an effort to hand out a couple warnings.

There was no explanation as to why the Bulletin never appeared until we finally heard of technical issues via a tweet. This wasn’t even on Halo Waypoint’s official Twitter however, it was on bs angel’s personal account saying she would try to post the Bulletin from home. We never heard anything else.

The point I’m trying to make here is please stop playing around on the NeoGAF forums and Twitter. You can easily get information to us via your own forums.

Thanks.

Unless the information comes directly from Waypoint or 343, it should be treated as an unfounded rumor.

There are plenty of employees from many different game development companies on NeoGAF. Why do you think they go there? Maybe so they can talk about things without it having to be an official release by there respective company? Possibly. Just a thought.

So, while I appreciate your frustration, you have to realize that as an employee, there are certain things they can and cannot talk about, especially on their own company’s forum. They kinda bound, legally. Also, fans tend to take employees words as gospel. Anything said gets carved into granite and hauled to the top of mount Halo for all to behold. I think that’s why Bungie and many other companies employees got to NeoGAF.
