Nemisess the Didacts theme...Revival?

I don’t know about you guys but, Revival is and has always been my favorite track on the OST, and I think I’ll be remixing it instead of Nemisess, BUT it gives me that ominous feel of “Oh god what have we done?, whatever we’ve revived can’t be stopped” something massive and powerful, even though they used some of the same choir samples. Nemisses and awakening seem much more suited for the didact, because well obviously A, He’s Johns nemisses now and they kind of fit the same roles in their respective species, and the Didact isn’t being “Revived” He’s being awoken. Now rival seems to fit a precursor much more and would make much more sense. What do you think?.

I kinda had a Portal theme from the beginning of Nemesis. Although fitting with the nature of a Cryptum, “revived” is totally appropriate.

Revived, awoken, same thing, really.

Man, there’s a lot of things waking up on Requiem. Chief, Didact, Ancient Evil…

Well the description of halo 4 “Master Chief faces a true Nemesis and an ancient evil” I agree with you 100%. Also if you notice the song nemesis comes before revival as well. Also the song arrival gets me thinking too maybe its the arrival of another mysterious ship like the one seen in terminal 5 in anniversary.

I feel that the terminal 5 species arrives to Requiem and revives the ancient evil on Requiem that’s just my thoughts.

Not really, to be awoken you must be sleeping (what you do in a cryptum) revival needs you to be dead (Also seems fitting for a precursor) and wouldn’t giving him 3 themes be overkill?, UNLESS awakening was meant for john when he wakes up,but either way I think the cryptum=cryosleep in a way.

I’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again. Nemesis will play for the Didact, Revival will play for the Ancient Evil, completely different being(s).

Well when in a Cryptum you are technically in a near-dead state, what with being nearly mummified and all.

Well fair enough, but I still see a cryptum being like cryosleep from their discriptions, also the chief and the didact fit the same roles.
Both mutated in some way
Both some of the highest class warriors of their species
Go into cryoish sleep once they’re finished their missions
And etc.

Well for all we know the Didact isn’t in a Cryptum by choice…

Good point, but from what I’ve heard from the thursday war Spoilers below (Not sure how to do the spoiler thing) The librarian put him in there and put a bunch of signs and messeges to stay away and “Do not engage” stuff like that.

Well we all know nobody listens to Forerunner warnings.

Yep, now hopefully we’ll see how people react to warnings of a higher up species.

I think that Revival is meant for the Didact, it just fits the whole Cryptum thing.

I just really hope that the Ancient Evil isn’t on Requiem to begin with, seems way too coincidental. First Storm shows up, the Chief, then Infinity, then we find the Didact, and then we also find the Ancient Evil on Requiem? Just doesn’t seem right. Though I would be all for the Ancient Evil arriving after we do something to cause them to come.

The reason chief is there is because he was brought there by Mendicant bias at the end of Halo 3, the reason storm is there is explained in the thursday war which also explains the whole didact thing, so no it wouldn’t be coincidental.

I know the reasons, but it would still just feel weird, I just used coincidental for lack of a better word. Unless 343i pulled of some storytelling magic, I think it would be odd for everyone to suddenly converge on one location that just so happens to hold 2 major threats, one universal, and they both awaken and wage war in the period of a few days at most.

Geas.

I really like that theory, and it would be a great explenation, but I’d still feel a little iffy about it. It’s hard to explain, but maybe I’ll change my mind once I play it, assuming that that does happen.

Yep, If 343 pulled that card I would be pretty satisfied.

Well, the Storm Covenant have a reason to be at Requiem, Bias sent Chief towards Requiem and the Infinity is following Cortana’s signal towards Requiem. Though why the Infinity is there is unknown, but I’ll just go with geas for now.
