can someone please explain to me how you can get a negative K/D. I’m rank 115 and I see people with a negative K/D. just wondering how that is.
, You die more than you Kill…
For example,
I have 5200 arena kills with 2700 deaths; 5200 is greater than 2700 meaning it is a positive kill to death ratio.
If I had 7000 deaths I would have more deaths than kills making it a negative ratio.
Basic math.
Math…
Not sure if troll.
Obvious troll. But i think he’s trying to be light hearted?
Grifball
noobs
take your pick
no its not a troll. I was just wondering cuz on games like battlefield and call of duty if u have more deaths then kills your K/D is not negative

Thats because those games dont want noobs to feel threatened while playing that they suck. Halo doesnt care, its what separates the casuals from the pros.
- It’s completely possible for a good player to have negative kdr if they play lots of objective type games, grifball, or infection. Nothing wrong with that imo. Infection dropped me from 51-% win to 49% but I don’t care cause when you see me in Warzone I’m still gonna be a top 3 player every time. Stats are not indicative of skill. Though they do give you hints… lol.
K/D is a ratio, it cannot be negative. It can be below 1.00 if deaths are more than kills. KDA on the other hand is a spread instead of a ratio and it can be negative, and thats probably what you’re seeing thats causing confusion

I think OP is referring to post game carnage. It will show if someone went -3 or -8.
too much griffball… oh the horror

Oh you mean KDA? That’s not your K/D ratio, the formula for that is Kills + 1/3Assists - Deaths.

KDA is not KD.
KDA is how many more kills and assists you get than deaths a game.

Those are suicides right? A suicide still gives you a -1 I believe.
In other games, K/D usually goes below 1 if the player has more deaths than kills. Like if someone had 5,000 kills and 10,000 deaths, they would have a K/D of 0.5. In Halo, the player’s K/D goes negative instead. Not sure how it works, but it does.
I seen one guy with a KD of 0.3 that had a champion CSR and they had the MLG tournament emblem for partisapating.
Seemed kind of too low since you can’t pick objective or slayer only.

Can’t get much simpler than that.
Being bad.

When people say “positive K/D”
They just mean…over 1.
Over 1 as a ratio.
Or, positive as a spread.
EG…
500 kills to 1000 deaths…
That’s -500 as a spread.
And 0.5 as a ratio.
Negative K/D
