Okay, we all know that Halo 5’s loot system is 99% RNG. Save for a few select armors, everything is unlocked at random by REQ packs. Now most of us know that people generally hate RNG; and as far as I know, there are only two methods to make RNG more enjoyable: Guaranteed loot pools or more bountiful RNG.
Guaranteed loot pools is basically connecting an item to a certain commendation, achievement, or enemy. We know that’s unlikely to happen at this point. More bountiful RNG, however, is much friendlier to Halo 5’s core gameplay. Put simply, increase the amount of RP gained from each match.
The way I see it, opening REQ packs is a lot like opening a pack of trading cards: its a nostalgic rush hoping that you’ve gained the exact card you want, but also being amused by additional items you end up liking. What’s more fun than this? Doing it a lot more frequently of course! Now if it happened too frequently, then it would kill the game’s life expectancy, but too slow also turns off players (because nobody likes an RNG grind). So a simple 1.4X RP increase would be a great moderation between the two. Arena would average ~1000 RP a game and Warzone variants would give between 2000 and 3500 RP. Less grind. Bigger numbers. More fun.
arena needs to give more rp AND XP. Warzone is fine. I get that 343 wants to promote their warzone invention, however only getting around 2000 exp for a 15 minute ctf btb game is just not fair

I think it has more to do with time played in the game. I’ve noticed that if a team finishes a game of SWAT quickly it translates into negligable RP. I’ve also noticed that in Warzone Assault that winning defense in round one only rewards about 1000 RP. Around 400 RP is awarded for being top player/team, but that isn’t very much considering the initial challenge.
Infection and Warzone firefight seem to be the best rp rewarding games, its unfortunate that assault, slayer and BTB get way less in terms of rewards for time played Edit: cant forget grifball
I agree, I hate finishing a long grifball match with tons of kills while only getting awarded ~600 req points.

Firefight is gonna get an RP nerf once its no longer featured. I’ve noticed that playlists can be inconsistent with RP (which really sucks considering its already a grind).
