I bet it’s a Warzone Carbine variant in the end. Which will suck, but I hope 343 proves me wrong.
The Needle Rifle was an excellent addition to the Halo Sandbox and it was an interesting weapon to use.
I’m still annoyed that 343 haven’t replicated the glass shattering effects made by neddles in Reach. They sounded so vicious!

Idk, the longer you play and the more silver packs you open, the smaller the pool of “Random” unlocks becomes. Your odds of unlocking it can only improve every time you get a permanent unlock.
As much as I loved the needle rifle in Reach, it was underpowered compared to the UNSC counterpart, the DMR.
DMR took 5 shots, 4 for shields, 1 for the noggin.
Neddle rifle took…7 or 8. So 7 for shields and 1 for the head.
The fire rate (and bloom) on the needle rifle didn’t bring it on part with the DMR, so I rarely used it outside of Campaign.

While a Needle Rifle would be pretty interesting to see, this looks like it’s just a skin variant that happens to have a modified projectile color. Regardless of which it might be, it’s still damn cool looking.
I feel like it’s more of carbine variant or maybe even storm rifle variant. I just like the possibilities of having new carbine variants that sounds cool.
Will it go automatic is the real question.
The return of the Needle Rifle from Halo Reach? Well you people rejoice like it’s your dream come true, I’ll sit here with my carbine and wait forever for a DMR Req unlock for Warzone

It was showed off on Truth, so unless we are now getting 12v12 Warzone on Truth, (Imagine how bad that would be) hopefully we may be getting REQs in forge and customs.
If it’s a thing it needes to require a ton of hits to explode. The regular needler is ridiculous compared to the mid age ones that needed no shield to to explode
