Steps:
1- Look for cover
2- Locate the victim
3- Quickly analize his movement
4- Shoot some needles just to the side he’s moving
5- Immediately get under cover. DON’T stay there looking the beauty of the needles flight so DON’T get shot.
6- Wait 1 second to recive the kill confirmation
7a- If there’s no kill, you did it wrong so prepare fof combat
7b- If you got the kill, you’re welcome: you just discovered how to properly use the needler.
Before judging a weapon as underpowered, please ask for more “it’s not that hard” weapon tutorials on this forum (or this post) and I’m sure a lot of people would be pleased to teach you.

I don’t think anyone disbelieves the strength of the needler.

After reading some opinions about the TU I’ve seen many people saying it is underpowered now.
People don’t know that the needler is completely useless when your target is close and moving sideways (from your point of view) the needles can’t track well and often end up missing.
You still have to aim with the needler. If you can maintain the red reticule, the needles will track and you can get quick kills. If you catch two opponents from behind or from the side, it is a very fast double kill.
Why don’t we make every power weapon a very quick, if not OHK weapon? I mean obviously we need it.

They complain against it instead of thinking: maybe I am a bad player
Here’s a tip for using the Needler on Opus:
- At the start of the match run up the ramp and grab the Needler.
- Go to the room that overlooks the Rocket Launcher and wait.
This will often give you 2 easy kills and ensure that your team gets the RL to start the match. You can continue to use this tactic all game if you time the RL spawn.

The Needler is underpowered? It doesn’t come with much ammo in ordinance I suppose.
Needler is a beast when used correctly.

But they’re so wonderful!
Honestly, this is my real problem when I use it. After I shoot, I get so focused on counting the needles that make contact that I don’t take cover or move like I do with other guns.
It’s a fantastic ambush weapon, in any case.
The strength of the needler is fine. My problem is that enemies dodge my needles too easily. If they are moving side to side or strafing, most of your needles seem to miss. If they have thruster pack, you might as well give up. It seems like my needles are accurate only when enemies aren’t moving perpendicular to me.
MP Needler is a dozen times more balanced than Campaign Needler.
The needler is awesome if used properly. Not UP at all.
I don’t think its underpowered, I just think it needs slightly more reserve ammo.

The only ones that underestimate it are dead and likely exploded from a “super combine” 
I really enjoy the Needler when I find it, but the ammo capacity is pretty low. Basically you get 2 to 4 kills with it - but I think it does also help as a melee weapon too (like the Brute Shot did).
How can anyone believe the H4 Needler is under-powered? It is easily the best Needler of all time.
I’ve lost track of the double kills I have with it…only one triple kill though. It’s a beast!
