Needle Rifles Confirmed!

The Live Stream had a very brief teaser at the end, showing a spartan falling, a single needle piercing his helmet…

But still no playable Elites!!!

Well kinda, it’s like a needle carbine thing

yeah but rather have a needle rifle body since it makes it less confusing which version of carbine you have

It’s probably just a skin for the carbine :frowning:

Well, if you think about it, it wasn’t just hinting at a new (REQ?) variant of a Carbine…

The map that it was on was Truth (Not a warzone map), so that means we could possibly get REQs in customs or forge. Possibly.

That weapon was a lot of fun, I hope it will return.
I doubt it is a skin, skins don’t change the kind of ammunition the weapon uses.

I liked the needle rifle too. Hopefully it returns.

It looked quite cool and hopefully it comes to halo 5

Yeah but it does look like a carbine

They are both Covenant weapons so they will definitely look similar. The DMR and BR look quite similar to the untrained eye.

Hopefully it wont be as powerful as in Reach, my goodness Invasion was hard with those blasting at you from the spire hills haha.

If the Needle Rifle returns 343 is doing something right at least. Next step PLAYABLE SANGHEILI and the return of the almost non-existenting UNSC flying vehicle.

whatever it is i want it in the upcoming halo

If they can bring in new models for weapons and other things that don’t exist in the campaign, I don’t see why they can’t bring back stuff like Covenant Drones and Brutes; I know those are a bit different, but how much, really? Brutes would not need drastically different AI from Elites, if at all. Take the Promethean Soldier skeleton, throw a Brute poly-build-thing on it, and give it a Covenant Elite’s AI programming, maybe with more health and less inclination to dodge roll. It seems like the majority of the work would be copy and paste if the foundations are laid out like that. I don’t know because I don’t program or work in 3-d design, but I know most programs have ways to import, export, select specific “layers” or “channels,” that kind of stuff.

Honestly, if I’m right about how those things are built, it seems like a lot less work than they would put into designing MORE frickin’ emblems, more ugly armor variants (I really don’t mind some of the armors, but the weird white splotches are an eyesore), and more weapon skins that do nothing.
