Needle Rifle vs Carbine

Which do you like better
For me the needle rifle.
Its less noisy so I can kill with my opponent not completely turning around to notice me.
Its not a down played version of its sniper counter part like in halo 3 (because in reach they are completely different)
It isn’t a covie remake of the dmr or BR
And the ending involves a BOOM!

All this is true, but the carbine is far more effective against power armor. The needles just bounce off of shields. Tough call, but I think I prefer the carbine.

For that reason, I prefer the carbine.

If it shoots more accurate and and do slightly more damage I dont see the down side

Actually I like the carbine a bit more because it can be used very well with my trigger finger spamming abilities and the needle rifle has bloom so it is harder to spam the trigger but in the case of no bloom on the needler rifle turns into a full auto destroction machine

In ODST I was a complete beast with the Carbine in Firefight. When allowed to get, use and keep my Carbine fully loaded I was tearing apart Brute Chieftains on Alpha Site before they got within striking distance with their hammers and at the very least tearing off the shields of those packing FRCs so my teammates could destroy them easily with any other weapon handy as I ducked the big green blasts.

The Carbine was deadly for the shielded enemies and was not too shabby when it came time for that final headshot. Can’t say the same thing for the Needle Rifle when it comes to shields, though it does seem to have a bit more accuracy for the final shot to the head. This is why I am so hopeful we see the Carbine back in Halo 4 somehow and why I still get urges to pop ODST back in and do a few rounds of Firefight on Alpha Site or Windward.

Two of the best weapons in halo history are the needler and the carbine. Combining them makes one of my favourite weapons ever. Needle rifle FTW.
