In a new January tease they showed a carbine firing needles like that of a needle rifle. Only one problem… Its not the Needle Rifle from Halo Reach.
But I digress, I am very excited about this. Its just the excitement somewhat dies when I see that 343 went through the work to bring back the original rocket launcher and yet decided to be lazy when it comes to ‘bringing back the needle rifle’.
I have no problem with them making this carbine variation though and making the actual needle rifle down the road. Here’s hoping.
There’s probably a lore reason for it but I would have preferred the needle rifle, it was a good gun in my opinion.
I don’t understand why they’re making it look exactly like the regular Carbine.
I think its a cheap way to make a varient, i would have much prefered the original needle rifle model
I’m equally saddened that itbdoit doesn’t have the original look also. But they still have some time to change it if the demand is great enough.
It did a really bad a** job on the brutes and elites. I wonder how many hits it would take to bring down a soldier.

Sweet! That looks pretty cool! I personally think this looks way better than the reach model. I like the Carbine though.

I like it, Covey Carbine + Needler
Well the carbine is getting the same treatment as the light rifle did. They have to fill in the higher levels of this gun. It is a lot easier to reskin an existing gun, than to create a new model.

Needle Rifle vs Needle Carbine . Yea no, the Needle Rifle was a better design than what we are getting now, IMO its a lazy move. Ive always wanted the Needle Rifle to return because it was awesome in Reach.

There wasn’t a need for more of those weapons, and people were upset they were gone. There was outcry when the SPNKR was removed after four, but there hasn’t been much outcry for the needle rifle, and it hasn’t been a game since reach. The classic BR and Halo CE magnum are probably being brought back due to popularity in the MCC which Reach was not a part of.

As I have previously dated in another thread, the 3D models and textures and animations cant just be made in an hour or two. I believe in the sprint it was unofficially confirmed that that part takes a week alone. Then from there you have to test out, and balance those weapons which can take a lot longer to get right. 343 need to get this out quick so they’re just doing the second part.
