Needing tips on not sucking lol

So recently bought an Xbox one X and so I picked up Halo 5 again and dusted it off. I played a lot of Reach and Halo 4 but honestly only about 5 games of Halo 5 before the Xbox one X release. Now I’m about SR46, and for the most part I still suck lol. I’m fair to good in swat but assault and Warzone I get my -Yoink- handed to me. It’s as if I have paintballs and everyone else high caliber rounds. I have an elite controller as a crutch and have been messing with that to give me some kind of edge but I struggle to get a plus kill spread in these game types, it does happen on occasion. Anyways any tips, game types or things other than time I can do to improve?

Get some practice in Firefight so you can get familiar with the weapons and vehicles (as well as their variants) without fear of getting shot to pieces from nowhere.

Yeah I’ve been playing a lot of Warzone firefight, and also fiesta to get use to all the power weapons. The big thing I’m trying to master is assault rifle and pistol. I’ve never been very good with either, been straying away from my strengths.

play every single day. practice makes perfect.

heres a few tips

  • play regularly, but that’s not always an option for some people - look up “how to play warzone in custom games” and follow the procedure to setting it up and just play a regular warzone match by your self and only fight the ai. they’re a lot tougher when you’re the only person fighting them, especially the bosses which will help you get good fast and improve your ability to think strategically as far as knowing how to approach a situation and with what weapon/vehicle. don’t do do firefight by your self because it’s impossible to complete with the time limits on each round. - play a lot of custom games - play super fiesta, it help you get acquainted with each weapon and teaches you how to put up with bull crap - as far as warzone keep in mind there are many ways to play. if one way isn’t working try another. if it’s to hard to capture/keep a base then kill as many bosses as you can, and if the enemy team starts swarming the bosses then make a run for their least defended base. - tip for playing on noctus, when you reach a high enough level for a sniper just sit by the shield of your home base and you will have a good view of both armories. when some one attacks you just hop back into the shield. piece of advice, keep a cqc weapon or explosive weapon with you when you do this in case someone makes their way up the the shield and waits there until you come out. and is you have the armor mod that allows you to use the radar while sniping, just go ahead and user that to. is this a cheap and unfair move? cheap, yes but it’s hilarious to watch players get frustrated and keep coming back to you. unfair, not if the other team is actually any good. I’ve easily killed many people that preform this tactic in many different ways. - if someone on the other team is doing the above here’s some ways how to stop them, get some kind of sword and make your way to them but travel in covered areas or at the very edge of the map so you’re less likely to be spotted (active camo comes in handy here), or you can snipe the sniper. - and finally, don’t spawn in a high level req unless you know you can do some damage with it before you die, and know what situations to use them in. if you base is being camped or is being swarmed, don’t use a nornfang or prophets bane. last thing you need is to lose the bane to the enemy team and now there’s a camo guy in your base. instead I would use a plasma caster or something with a lot of splash damage if multiple people are getting in at once, but if most are out side and trying to get in I tend to get a default sword and kill em as they come in, if they kill you then at least it’s not with a high tier, hard to kill weapon. also when fighting promethean bosses (mostly knights) use either explosives or tracking weapons like upgraded needlers, bolt shots, and suppressers

Practice makes perfect my dude. What I recommend:

  • Join a clan and attend trainings. Believe it or not, it’ll help you. It’s helped me quite a lot. - Warzone Firefight grinding. Get those REQ’s Spartan! - Practice, practice, practice, and more practice. Whether it’s in ranked, social, or custom, the more you play, the more your skills will improve.

when you blue dont shoot the other blue or else the blue no like you
same applies for red

took me like a long time to figure that one out

I’d recommend working on getting your magnum shot down. Overall it’s probably gonna be one of your most used weapons, and it can be very deadly so long as you hit your shots.

I’m not a great player, but I know what I can do to improve.

  1. Don’t rage quit, this is a big one for me, because I care a lot more about my overall KDR than I should, so when I’m getting absolutely brutalized with 1 kill and 10 deaths, it’s hard for me not to rage quit, but use these games to your advantage. You’re playing against higher level players, they’re going to force you to play more carefully, and land better shots. You’re not going to walk out with a win under your belt, but it’s better for you in the big picture. Playing against hard opponents makes you good, playing against bad opponents makes you bad.

  2. Always aim and head level, ALWAYS. This way if someone surprises you by turning a corner, all you have to do is shoot, instead of aiming and shooting. And if your opponent wasn’t doing the same, you’re going to walk out of that fight with a kill.

  3. Experiment with aim sensitivity. When I first got the game I was playing with about an 8, and I was really good. But after not playing for like 6 months, and coming back, I was extremely frustrated because I couldn’t get kills. Lo and behold, I turned the sensitivity down to a 5, and I started getting more consistent kills. High sensitivity is great for reacting to ambushes, but it’s garbage for consistent head shots, if you get even a little freaked out when doing a 1v1, you’re going to miss some shots, and will thus lose the fight. Low sensitivities are better for 1v1s, but if someone flanks you from behind, you’re dead. It’s all personal preference though.

  4. Stay with your team, even if you can’t talk with them, stick with AT LEAST 1 buddy. You’re putting yourself at a higher risk if someone has a heavy weapon, but the majority of the time even just seeing multiple enemies will be surprise enough to get the jump on your enemy.

  5. Keep an eye on your radar… I’m mainly writing this as a reminder to me, because I’m really bad about getting tunnel vision, but every 3 or so seconds, take a quick glance at your radar. Also use the fact that your enemy is watching radar to your advantage, if your enemy is carefully watching it, crouching down is a great way to make yourself almost invisible to someone who isn’t paying enough attention to their surroundings.

I’m sure there’s more, but this is just what I can think of off the top of my head.

I’ll give you the classic answer! GET GOOD!.. There might be videos on youtube.

Practice makes perfect. Trial and error

Find out what sensitivity you can play best on and see what’s easiest for you maneuver without over aiming. Honestly this game comes down to precision in firefights and the quicker and more able you are to keep the reticle on their head the netter you’ll get

Just stop putting it in your mouth.

Honestly, I think you should try playing the campaign on Legendary with all skulls on, or at least work your way up to it. Also, the magnum is a bit OP in Halo 5. So you might get a better chance of getting more kills with that too. Don’t always feel like you need to be a pro though, and try not to force yourself to use a weapon you’re not comfortable with. Because it’s obviously just going to make it harder for you, no matter how powerful the weapon may be. Sometimes it also helps to just group up with teammates.

honestly i don’t have any good tips because i suck too.one thing that helped me was that i used to be a trigger happy person and i never aimed.
I also never sniped when i played with my family and i always lost.
i use grenade and plasma grenade stick them to people and blow them up.
that’s the best i have and it helped me a little
keep practicing!

Try to analyze individual gun battles and see what you did wrong (or didn’t do wrong) that led to your death. Were caught from behind? Sniped in the open? Double teamed? Blasted by a Banshee? There are tactics to minimize each of those situations, and I think getting better at the game means learning all of the tricks to deal with everything enemies throw at you. Try to catch enemies at an angle. That might mean being patient, looking for friendly tags that are yellow (meaning they’re firing on someone), or taking an obscure path into an area. Stick with teammates if the enemy is traveling in groups. Sometimes shooting at a sniper can cause them to take their eyes off a friendly player. There are a lot of things you can do to help your teammates like that. Limit sprint, and stay aware of situations when you can use spartan abilities (running into a small room, red dot on radar below you, etc).

Can’t help you with Halo 5 OP, but if you ever want to improve your skill in the classic Halo games, I’m your guy.
