Just saw this video today and it makes a ton of sense to me, Ignore the title of the video and just watch it and listen to what he is saying and let me know what you think?

Beta isn’t even out yet, and people are already complaining. He probably thinks it’s for the noobs because it doesn’t play EXACTLY like Halo 2 or 3.

The first 30 seconds was awesome. I am a campaign fan, but I can definitely see it taking that direction.

“The product that makes the most money isn’t the best product.”

That’s an interesting debate for another time. What defines “best”? Everyone rips on CoD yet it still has like a million players, it must be doing something right.

“343I is making important changes one at a time instead of all at once to avoid scaring us off.”

Agreed. Sure they removed perks and loadouts (as far as we know, arena isn’t the only gametype in the final product), but they added in ADS and Clamber, and I can easily see them adding in more. If Halo were a boulder, 343I could potentially be considered the sea that is slowly but surely eroding it.

“The only way to appeal to the new generation is to lower the skillgap.”

Honestly, agreed. No one wants to be challenged anymore, at least no one on the console market.

6:40 and onwards is interesting but I disagree with some of the points he’s bringing up. It takes longer to get within CQC distance, but once you’re actually in that distance sprint pretty much guarantees you the kill. Can’t exactly back up and shoot at the same time when forward movement speed is way faster than walking backwards is. For the record, I don’t consider this buff to CQC to be an advantage of sprint, I consider it a downside.

9:00 and onwards I see that all the time, regardless if its Halo or Battlefield we’re talking about.

11:37 Exactly. Then they get upset when you point out the fact that their demigod status isn’t actually deserved. I’m not that great at games, but unlike people playing easy games at least I’m not deluded into thinking I’m something special.

“Halo as we know it is dead, I hope Destiny will fill the void in my heart.”

The video was going well up until this point. What a crappy thing to leave off on.

I think he has a few points here and there on Halo 4 (vehicles not useful) amid the BS (power weapons not useful), but nothing on Halo 5. It’s an old video and expectedly irrelevant in that regard.

PC has things like CS:GO and LoL, we’ve got… CoD? Then you’ve got stuff like Destiny, utterly ruled by RNGesus and Skinner.

I’m just not sure that’s what 343 is doing this time, and that’s his assumption. I’ve heard the bullet magnetism is greatly reduced, for one. That doesn’t fit at all with the video.

Note that I said the console market.

Now, I assume the argument you’re making is “no one plays console shooters competitively because there’s no competitive console shooters to begin with”.

I’d be interested in hearing why you think games like Gears of War aren’t doing as well as CoD without mentioning the skillgap, or rather why you don’t think these games qualify as being competitive relative to CoD.

You could argue “word of mouth” or “my friends play this and not this”, but come on. Surely most people have at least heard of other titles besides CoD.

Yeah I have heard that about the bullet magnetism as well.

Just watched 3 videos from this guy and he is fantastic so far

thanks OP

and wow never thought that Reach models looked that good…

True it is an old video, I think he has good points in who they are targeting though

I agree

I’m actually agreeing with you. CoD is really the only big console Esport I can think of, and I thought that was worth noting.

About Gears though, wasn’t Judgement their Reach or 4? I thought they changed things in ways older fans didn’t care for.

I read the title and cringed.

but on topic about the video, How the hell can he, or anyone, prove any of this correct. People speculating like that before the game is even publicly available and a year before it’s release, I have no other words for it other than silly and dumb. People saying it’s similar to CoD based on small amounts of gameplay hated the game before it’s announcement. Nobody should have a full opinion on this game until they are able to support their opinion, at most people should be curious, and only curious.

“Why “Halo 5” Multiplayer is Designed for Noobs - “Halo 5 Multiplayer” Speculation”
Uses Halo: Reach gameplay

GG.

I agree with him on the aiming. In Reach, I had nearly a perfect 5 shot after play for very long time and in Halo 4 you can just pick up the game and play with little to no skill. I really hope Halo 5 isn’t like Halo 4s aiming.

This guy? Ugh. Another speculating, old game loving, preorder hating YouTube gamer that loves talking about money grubbing companies, as he gets subscribers and grubs money off of YouTube.

It’s clearly speculation obviously, we can all make our arguments why Halo 5 is go or bad down the road after we have played it. That being said he makes a lot of good points I just wanted to know what you guys thought of his opinions and his speculation. He has tons of valid points, I have a few friends that started on Halo Reach and they love Halo 4, and are not fans of the first trilogy, and don’t understand why everyone hates Halo 4. I started on Halo CE and loved the first trilogy and I had fun playing Halo Reach and Halo 4 as well, not even a fraction of as much fun as I did on the other games because I don’t think Halo needs all the gimmicks, that’s me personally, but the main reason I didn’t like Halo 4 or play Halo 4 as much as the others was because the population was non existent after six months 87% of players were gone and all my friends quit playing it. I really hope Halo 5 will be fun, but it still looks like it caters to newer players in ways that they can be good without being good at all the little things like map control, knowing when weapons respawn, crouch jumping, using a mic to make callouts, knowing when to push and when to stay back, flag running, and knowing when power ups respawn. The one thing I will say that I am really happy with is the fact that they have made the aiming harder which is great.

Pretty sure he didn’t say that one time, did you even listen to the video?
