Need tips on multiplayer

I need help with how to get better at multiplayer. I was a good during the first couple days but it just downhill from there. Also I’ve been getting really angry when I die and I know that doesn’t help either. So if you guys could give me tips about how to get better I would appreciate it.

A good thing to do is if you have games where a certain player is just dominating, go back and watch the gameplay from his/her cam and take notice of how they play

Learn how to place nades, use the precision starting weapons, and ALWAYS aim for the head. Always. You will not outshoot someone if you can’t get consistent headshots.

Dont rush enimeies. Try to stay back and pick of kills. Play alot and get good at the game. I was once like u now I have a 2.80 kd in h4 so just practice and ull get better

Learn the maps, stick by a teammate and assist them, learn to strafe, learn when to call in an ordinance drop, know when to run away.

Thanks guys for the tips

Play smart, crouch alot, so many players rely on their radar to spot enemies. Findout the correct distance and situation for each weapon than place yourself in that situation. Learn to strafe and when ur hurt take cover get out of battle no sense in dying just to be rambo. Grenades are much weaker this time around so placement is very essential. Get a teams if u can. Hope i helped good luck.

Best way to get good is find a team. Also if you’re getting frustrated just switch playlists for a bit. I usually rotate between Big Team, Regi, Team Snipes (when they have it) and Infection. Can’t make the first point enough though, it’s almost impossible to consistently win by yourself.

If you play Big Team, try to master every vehicle except, well, the mongoose. Vehicles have always been a huge part of Halo so you might as well use them as they have lower skill caps than the weapons.

And when I say master every vehicle, I mean gunner AND driver seat. A good driver can mean the difference between a victory and a loss.

Teamshoot. Stick with a partner and put shots into people even if there’s no chance of killing them; they’re still suppression shots.

From a guy who typically has similar issues, learn the maps, in a team environment play wingman to the closest team member, you will either get an assist or kill (or yeah, get killed).

You didn’t really detail your problems, but from my experiences especially across the Halo games, I switched all games over to bumper jumper. Practice the headshot, shield draining combining with a final shot. I still have issues understanding basic weapons like a shotgun, I still expect to have to very close, always underestimating its range.

Another weird suggestion, look at the commendation list, see something you are close to achieving and work on that, its how I approach things sometimes, it gives me a goal and specific item to work on.

Last and its been my major problem with Halo 4, I enjoy partying up, but my friends are better than I am, so I was finding that in parties I was playing very badly. Someone mentioned there might be a summary skill level to a party in which I personally was in over my head. Playing as a random, I am actually doing reasonably well.

But stick with your teammates, I’ve been on the receiving end of very well trained teams and as frustrating as it is to have mu butt handed to me, I am also envious of their skill and teamwork.

Playing as a random has its own risks such as being matched with teammates that have absolutely nothing better to do than goof off and betray. Other times, no and its fun. If you find yourself with a group of 8 randoms and you seem evenly matched in skill, stick with that group as long as your available time allows. You may not be playing with the same three people every match but it helps with skill and confidence. As soon as I start losing my temper, bad gameplay only gets worse.

Hope at least some of this helps.

whoops, sorry about the duplicate post

It’s good to see players helping out others on here.

I’m probably going to get grief for this, and I don’t know if there’s any science behind it, but what the hell I’m just going to say it…I play much, much better if I have recently jerked off.

hangs head in shame and leaves thread

Use these on Haven.

Just reiterating what most have said:

Don’t rush the enemies. Take your time, try to see where the action is happening (you will notice that each player of your team has an arrow above their head that flashes red when they’re in combat) and try to help your teammates by either flanking the enemy, or directly providing support. Two or three bullets in the enemy is enough to save/help a teammate, believe me (I personally like to open a Regeneration Field near the combat to quickly recover my teammates shields so they can back up and return faster).

Secondly, and the most essential skill for every Halo player: know how to effectively use grenades. Practice a lot, observe how the good players throw them.

Finally, the actual shooting. First 4 shots to the body, finishing with a headshot (varies from weapon to weapon). Adjusting the sensitivity of the analog is important. Try different setups and see which one is the most comfortable. The buttons layout is worth looking into as well, I’ve been using Bumper Jumper and it plays good.
