If something’s not broke, don’t fix it! I read what your pro player said on the gaf and I’ve seen the crazy aiming myself. The beta is why i bought 5. Thinking surely you can’t mess up aiming. That’s been Halos thing for 14 years. Then what was complimented in the beta, got changed and ReQd. Please have someone from your company address and explain what went wrong. There are numerous threads across various sites detailing this issue.
The beta aiming was broken as well but in a slightly different way. The reticle would stick too hard to a target causing over correction
they need to go back to they way it’s been for 15 years.
I just jumped in between master chief collection, battlefield 4, call of duty aw and titanfall. Halo 5 has something fundamentally wrong with the aiming. It has nothing to do with aim assist. There is a large zone on the right stick that when aiming down the sights is a slow and precise movement. It’s a single speed, and any movement outside of that zone and you are instantly thrown into your sensitivity speed. Changing your sensitivity has no effect on the speed of the “precision aiming zone”. There is no smooth transition between aiming speeds. Aiming down the sight and trying to line up a headshot at the pre determined deadzone speed isn’t fast enough. And moving outside of the zone causes you to overshoot your target, causing a back and fourth battle to catch the target’s head. I can’t play like this, it has nothing to do with aim assist. Play any other shooter and come back and play halo 5. Something is either wrong, or if this is an intended mechanic, whoever thought this was a good idea needs a bullet to the head, in bf4 or some other shooter because it sure as hell isn’t happening in this game.
Hmm i didn’t notice or i adapted quickly. This is just cumbersome.
It is a serious issue that’s holding back players with real skill. All this “adapt” BS is a joke. How can you adapt to something that is unadaptable? I should never feel like I won a battle because luck was on my side. I should feel like I earned the right to win because of my skill.

It might be the FOV, oddly enough, or am I the only one who feel like I have trouble seeing whats beside me in this game and this game alone.
It also slows over targets and aiming diagonally to a crawl so if someones running and im holding to follow i cant get the reticle to go to there head without fighting the damn controller.

I definitely noticed something weird with the aim. I’m sure after we play it for acouple weeks we will get used to it but it really annoys me. For all the people saying nothing is wrong type in halo 5 beta aiming and see what comes up. They explain the changes …etc

It is a serious issue for sure, and one 343I should absolutely prioritize fixing. The most important part of a game is how the gameplay feels. This just feels clunky as hell. It’s a shame, since H5 beta played much smoother (not perfect, but smoother).
