I caught the Forging bug. In the last few days I have made/tweaked X maps. The only problem is, I don’t have enough regular players on my friend list to adequately test these maps and work out all the bugs.
I’m looking for suggestions, criticisms, praise, etc. Anything you think that can help improve these maps will be welcome to hear.

Here’s the list and a quick description of each map:

Freakout 2.0 > Blackout remake > FFA (4V4 and CTF variants in the works)

Stahp! Hammateim! > 4 player FFA made for Hammers only.

Kings Castle > 4V4, FFA Slayer, KOTH > Mid size, and symetrical.

Station ALpha > 4v4, BTB, CTF > Large, mirrored and symmetrical.

The Arena > 2-8 player FFA Slayer > Very tight and symmetrical

House of the Doomed > FFA Slayer (4v4 and CTV variants are in the works)> Mansion, complete with big screen tv and pool table
I also have made different Game Settings as well if anyone cares to check them out and give any feedback on them too.

It’s a no go for CTF on Freakout 2.0. Keep getting the message that the gametype is incompatible with the map. Gonna keep trying to figure it out.
I have, however, added CTF and 4v4 to House of the Doomed.
Ok, found the problem. I was in the WG menu when I was trying to select CTF from the game type menu…
So I’ll get on the CTF on Freakout later this evening.

Hey WoodChuck, couldn’t make the CG fest last week, was too busy to play. But ty for the invite. Going to msg you about playing/testing in the near future though. Between jobs right now so I can’t really commit to any set play hours (part time work, interviews, things like that always coming up), but I’d like to get some games going sometime.
I’ve been really tweaking my maps as of late, especially Freakout as it’s made the list in the Classic Map Remakes - Halo 3 thread and is undergoing more testing.
Here’s the maps and the changes so far:
Freakout - Smoothed the transitions between ramps
- Moved sniper tower slightly farther away from center platform
- Lowered jump height to lift at bottom of lift room
- Extended the platform on corner of lowest walkway from lift room to
snipe tower
- Removed railings from center platform, changed to angled blocks
- Added in lighting effect using 1 way shields in lift room
- Added fusion coils in their proper places
- Added ambush ledge above main door to lift room (bottom)
- Added ambush ledge that wraps around mid snipe tower
- Added ambush ledges to mid BR tower and one adjacent to drop to sword
room
- Now supports 4v4
I also tweaked and smoothed some other lines all over the map, trying to get it to look as polished as possible.
Stahp! Hammateim! - Took out Ordinance drop points (made Hammrz only gametype)
- Added in 4 more starting platforms
- Removed bumper shields
- Now supports 8 player FFA
House of the Doomed - Replaced weapons on map with OD’s
- Removed Juicy FX lighting
- Added teleporters to go between back hallway/stairs, to
above entrance on bridge
- Now supports 4v4, 6v6 and CTF
The Arena - Added false ceiling/kill zones to prevent escape
Kings Castle - Adjusted all jump heights going up castle
- Filled in all gaps between platforms
- Adjusted order of hill spawns for KOTH to achieve more cross map
movement
- Added Kill Zone ceiling
- Now supports 4v4 6v6 or FFA (still tweaking spawns)
I’ve probably done a few more things that I don’t even remember, but these are still all works in progress.
