Ok, tbh, first preference is to have players that use a mic, but i would also say this
As much as most players would want to be in a team that communicates every second. It is very unlikely that your going to get this unless your part of a proper clan/MLG etc…
But saying that, i believe most MM online players would be happy to have moderate intel coming through from the team they are in at the very least.
For players that don’t spk much, i would see them as being either amazing players that probably demonstrate naturally in terms of how many kills they get to why they don’t talk much, I don’t think anyone could disagree with that ),
One of the exceptions to the above for me is, He’s having a great game but the rest of the team are dying more times than contributing positivetly, thus your loosing the match overall, If that happens I’d hope your top player could/would start helping others/support them as he needs them to stop dying if your going to stand a chance of winning the game
…as they say
Win together, loose together, unless your objective is to finish top and go positive regardless of the out come of the game. For me I do focus on winning, if it means going through a quiet patch in a game playing look out then so be it. I’ll let the rest get the kills
So if a player doesn’t communicate much if at all I think it’s important that they clearly show they are a team player. For me that is being able to do the following/they should also already understand the need to be doing the below anyway.
-
When you get killed, your looking to link up with who ever is nearest to you at every oportunitiy ( unless it’s one of those games where everyone knows they can go Weapons Free and roam around the map and do their own thing cos it’s clear the other team are just getting straight up owned )
-
It’s also difficult to lead if you aren’t using a mic, obviously your going to see a threat, trap, ambush or dangers before others but you can’t warn anyone. If that’s the case you’d be better off sticking with the pack as much as you can or just be giving someone support/following them, watching the teams back in general etc…
If the pack is all facing the same way it’s good if you have the self awareness to look the other way/flanks etc…
Example, two Red TM’s fighting one Blue, if you don’t know where the rest of that one Blue player TM’s are then there’s a good chance one could be making a different approach on you and the rest, so don’t get caught ball watching your team mates in their battles.
The above scenario can sometimes ask for faith from you, trust that your TM’s are going to do their part so you can do yours, sometimes this can and will happen without a player being asked or having the time to ask, so players need to watch for that ( able to read the game, understand how the battle is going )
Another example, I have a friend who is/was a King on Halo 2-3 and Reach, during those years i was pretty much getting carried by him, struggled hard to get just 10 kills most of the time.
Now i don’t know if it’s COD/MW3 that caused this but he’s played these games for over a year now, He can’t get back into Halo anymore, it’s sad to see him finish bottom going -8 on average, But he’s clearly trying to do moves he was able to do before but can’t do them now…
He just keeps getting punished for it, his mistake, he wont hold back and be more supportive, still goes out there looking for fights on his own, never asks for help until its too late… (maybe that’s the way he just likes to play)
A man has go to know his limitations, he don’t say much when he plays so no one can help, but also he’ll walk into a fight were the odds are against him more often than not…
I want to be in a team that not only expands in attacking together but also sits back together when you should,
On what I’ve said above, I don’t see me as trying to rule over others/dictate or be forceful, But when someone says lets form a group/team or what ever, people have to understand everyone needs guide lines to follow, you can’t assume people are going to do the right thing all the time what ever that maybe… but the above is what I’m looking for in players more or less.
If they have the same ideals then not only will they get the best out of me, but I’ll get the best out of them
Hopefully now others will want to link up after reading that, I do better in a team with team work and communication personally. But also i enjoy playing this way as well when I do, I am a try hard but in a respectful and honest way ( I just want to win as much as i can ),
when i loose i see it as a lesson to be learned from,
