It seems as if Firefight is you’re on you own with whatever reqs you have with 7 others. Back in previous Halo games The UNSC was generous enough to provide Spartans on the ground with Fire Support. We’d get things like weapon drops, warthog drops, and that special Target Locator. Sometimes I really wish we had a Target Locator, so we can drop pure bombs on the hordes of Prometheans that spawn. But now we get nothing, its just you and other spartans with whatever reqs you have. Did the UNSC just drop off spartans on the ground and forget about us. No weapon drops(unless from other enemies), no pelicans coming in between rounds dropping off vehicles or fire support. I think it would be nice for the UNSC to back up its Spartans with weapon support via Pelican drops in between rounds.
I wish they brought it back. It would make it easier to kill those knights.
That would be too OP.
A target locator would be great so would the grenade launcher, sticky detonator and almost any weapon that was in the HALO series.

Not Really, In the previous Halo’s not in Halo 5. We have Hannibal Scorpions and Mantises.

Yeah and the Promethean Horde is OP too especially with Knights, so a Target Locator would even out the battle field.
It would be so satisfying to see Target Locator bomb strike reign down on all those Yoinkin Prometheans, I could see it being a Legendary Req card.
“Your the last boots on the ground spartan, survive waves of increasing difficulty.”
Sorry, had to be a smart-yoink really quick.
Sounds like Palmer drops you off with the expectation that you will die, but with the hope that you will survive.

Was just about to say this. Palmer specifically states you are “the last boots on the ground”, which means no more support is coming, you’re on your own. You have thousands of REQs, why do you need additional drops? I have like 300 Warthogs, why would I need the UNSC to drop one in?
The target locator has already been confirmed. In an interview that Bonnie Ross did with some news website, at some point during the video they show footage of firefight and you can hear someone say “I need an orbital strike on the warden” so there’s that

You’re the last boots on the ground, aka we can’t send in anyone else down there. Palmer never says anything about getting support from up above
As was said, you are the last boots on the ground. Not to mention that most of the Promethean Horde are relatively easy kills. Easier than Elites sometimes. Use cover, and distancing, no need to rush into a mob for a measly kill assist.
Crawlers - 1 magnum shot, 1 DMR shot, or 1 BR burst to the head = dead
Soldiers - Weak spots are the head. BR’s can pop it off on the weaker tiers in half a mag if your accurate/lucky
Knights - Shoulders first, then head…if you can’t swing around for an assassination
Watchers - he he…hahahahahaha…just shoot’em. Except the blue guys, they suck,
Warden - target that head, or the back.
Phaetons - target the weak spot as often as possible
Most enemies/bosses can be taken down with loadout weapons: as long as you have people focusing fire on one at a time. Too often you get everyone shooting something else, no one picking off the weaker guys as much as they should, or rambos charging the lines to prove their e-peen only to shaft everyone with a long respawn time. More often than not, 1 or two people picking off the weaker enemies while the rest focus on the boss can win the round; however, it seems some players get really pissy if they have a lower kill count regardless of whatever thier score is.

True, but it’s a War Games exercise, right? Your Spartan is training for the day when there may not be support to call on. Perhaps there are AA batteries…or Infinity is in combat up in orbit…or you are in an unreachable location. There are any number of scenerios where as a soldier. even super, you may find yourself against the coming tide and you have to fight to survive. That is was Fire Fight is. Survive until help can arrive.
