Need new ranking system

I’m sure this has been addressed but as I continue to log hours into Halo 4, which I think is amazing, the only thing that frustrates me is the ranking system…

Halo Reach has such a cool ranking system. Sooner or later everyone is going to be 130.

Is it possible for 343i to implement a new ranking system like Reach’s for 4 or is it just something I’m going to have to wish for in the next Halo installment?

I agree. I hate SR ranks; they’re useless. If I wanted a counter of how many games someone’s played, I can just look at Completed Games on someone’s service record. It’s redundant.

Yes, I’ve never understood the reasoning behind the SR system. It looks like a poorly planned design that was not prepared for players who put in a huge amount of hours in the game, which halo players obviously do.

It really makes me wonder who made the decision on this, it must not have been a traditional halo players since they would have probably known that there are many halo ‘fanatics’ who would reach SR 130 in just a few weeks.

Mistakes like this really make me worry about the future of this franchise :frowning:

Need new game /thread

Is it possible for 343 to implement something new into Halo 4 or is it too late in the game for a change?

i highly doubt they will change anything seeing how halo 5: money hungry comes out next year, but OT i got to lvl 68 in about 2 days

During RTX, the summer before Halo 4 was released, the screenshots of people playing Halo 4 during RTX the summer of 2012 showed folks in post game screens about to promote from one Major rank to another. I think it was Major grade 2 to Major grade 3.

And then we get the final build of the game and military rank is gone from match making. A first for a Halo title, and incongruent for a FPS based on a Navy that has Sailors and Marines.

It would appear Halo 4 is coded different than previous titles, to where they CAN add things to the game.

In Reach, nothing could be added to the Armory. But in Halo 4 we’re getting three new sets of armor available to us later this month. So clearly things can be added to Halo 4.

Maybe at some point they can add back the military rank progression that got cut between the summer 2012 RTX build and the release build.

It’s weird because they made so many final changes to the game. They drastically changed the menu layouts for Spartan Ops, and renamed many of the pieces from the armory. The “Legendary” visor was originally supposed to be called “Recruit”, and Warrior was the default armor set. The Recruit forearms also belong to the Warrior set.

I feel like there would be enough community support to get this changed.

Now that I’ve been level 130 there is absolutely no need to care about experience points any longer. Challenges are no longer rewarding.

Experience doesn’t give you a higher rank. There is no way to tell who the veterans are because everyone is 130.

At that point, it becomes about Commendations and unlocking content through them.

I did stray off point.

I just remember that I would work so hard to get that new military rank in reach or reach that new csr in halo 3.

I would like to see something similar soon. After the champions bundle, it may be time to move to another game.
