I’ve made forums like this before and none of them are helping, no matter where I go I die. I win 99% of my 1v1’s but I only get those opportunities like 5 times a match. People tell me follow a teammate and I’ve tried that and what usually happens is my team is full of idiots who just run into the middle of the map or run into 1v4’s and I end up dying. I try to lone wolf it after that but I just either get sniped from across the map, killed by a power weapon, killed by a dmr across the map or I get caught by like 4 enemies because they’re always in a group. I don’t know what to do and I love this game but would enjoy it 10x more if I could just do good consistently. I do get good games but only against…not so good people.
Also before telling me get a full team of people, I would like to do good without a full premade team because I don’t have too many friends that play this game. I’ve played Halo since the first one and have done good in all of them and I don’t know why I can’t get good games in this Halo.
Tip 1: Shoot People
Hmm sounds like you run into the open?
> Hmm sounds like you run into the open?
Trust me I wouldn’t do that.
I have the same problem… My team is full of idiots who hand the enemy kills… I do what i know from past halo games but cause of a bad team i really feel like not playing halo
> Hmm sounds like you run into the open?
+1
If I can, even when I lone wolf I try to stay near the outer of the map rather then jump through the middle. Can I ask what game modes you are playing OP?
Infinity Slayer and some Big Team Slayer, I just get overwhelmed by a pack of enemies or power weapons.

Sometimes you just can’t win every encounter.
-
If engaging a group, sometimes running and re-grouping is the best option.
-
Find your go-to load-out and get good at it. Whether you are a DMR, BR or LR guy, practice with your chosen weapon consistently. Even automatic weapons are viable options in H4!
-
Have a second option. If you are consistently being killed by a certain tactic, don’t keep doing the same thing, mix it up. Re-think, re-group, re-engage. You can modify your load-outs mid-game!
-
Always use a mic, even if the rest of your team doesn’t have one. At the very least they may be able to hear your call-outs and that will help the entire team.
I’m not the best player in the world, but these things helped me.
Personally even when I’m playing with friends or a team, I tend to just run off and do my own thing anyway.
Trick is as it has always been in Halo, make sure you have a good range and cqc weapon in each slot then take the less travelled areas in the map.
Most players will simply blinding run into the dead center of a map and get blapped quickly, but you stick to peripheral areas and you tend to only come across a few peeps at a time while getting a good view of where the action is.
Would also say keep a constant eye on your motion tracker, as it’s frankly invaluable to see people getting close. When dealing with long-range snipers (or having to move across large open spaces), hop about like a bunny using sprint to kick of the jump to move further quicker.
People who do it are an absolute pig to hit, even with the very generous auto-aim.
I would reccomend using things which may aid you, try out PV what lets you get a look behind walls, use it before going around corners.
Also if you know where the firefight is going on, try to hold back from going straight in or sit back and fire from a distance. someone will eventually make a mistake and come into the open.
Well am looking for team mates who are fun but not i must be mlg at halo types
If you’ve never played SWAT before, I recommend that. It really teaches you to focus on headshots and strafing. When you’re using a BR or DMR in closer combat, it’s also helpful because you learn not to rely on zooming in with the scope.
Use your radar A LOT. But I guess you would already know that.
Sounds like some bad luck after bad luck perhaps.
I’m not a great Halo player and I often get many death streaks but if you fancy it add my gamertag and I’ll play some big slayer games with you.

Find a controller button scheme which works for you. Also, muck around with the sensitivity until you find one that suits you better.
-
Learn the weapons. Go into forge and just go wild with the weps, see what they can do.
-
When in forge, explore the maps a little, learn the general geometry of the map.
-
If you are using an precision weapon, Aim for the face.
-
Never get frustrated. If you die. You die, but you can learn from those mistakes and remember not to do them again.
Get camo perk… wait… press RB. Profit like the rest of the noobs.
OP - Agreed. I have taken my lumps as well being new to Halo from COD. So it has taken me all of the past week to get accustomed to the gameplay. I have faced the same thing, but every few games, you link up with a group that just stays together and runs trhough people, which is sweet.

Very good advice…
Do it like me and my friend and many other people:
Just play tha Game! o_o

Roll with the DMR constantly. It is the best starter weapon aside from the boltshot (Roll with that as your secondary always) Keep an eye on the motion sensor. Bring dooooown that sensitivity (I suggest 3-4 for new players, as you get better bring it up. I keep mine at 8.) I’ve found that the biggest difference between a skilled player and a non-skilled player, is knowing that there are simply encounters that you cannot win, so RUN AWAY!!! Do not charge the group of enemies coming around the corner, and try to keep your fights at a range whenever possible. Use the hardlight shield in long range combat, and try to learn your way around frag grenades. Try and pick up a power weapon at the beginning of the match whenever possible, and time your DMR shots. If your shot isn’t going to hit, don’t shoot it. BR users will spam the -Yoink- outta you, but you just have to focus on what counts, landing those shots. Aim four to the chest, and then really focus in on that headshot. 90% of your attention in a close range engagement should be on your reticule. STOP SPRINTING AROUND THE MAP. If your walking and the other dude is sprinting, by the time he gets outta sprint and aims his gun at you, you might already have 2 DMR shots on him. Do not go into the high traffic areas unless you have a shotgun. My final tip is to not get frustrated. When you play angry, you make stupid mistakes that you wouldn’t of made with a clear head.
PS!! Watch post match replays of the players with the best scores. Do what they do.
