Need Multiplayer Tips

I don’t know what to do it’s like I’m always at the wrong position every time I go in there’s 3 enemies and most of the time when I get a kill I die right after. I need some tips I don’t know what to do. How do I position myself? Also what do I do if the whole enemy team is camping the house in Complex or the tower in Abandon?

Anyone?

Play with promethean vision so you can look through the wall and not stumble into a 3v1 situation. As far as taking down a team camped on high ground, you’re SOL unless you can communicate with your team and attack together. Taking them on solo is suicide, as team firing will have you dead in .25 seconds. Hope for a lucky weapon drop that helps you out. Chucking grenades is rather ineffective, as their damage and radius appear to be nerfed quite a bit.

Good luck.

Win.

Also, promethean vision doesn’t seem worth it to me, way too short of a time unless you only want to see exactly one corner in front of you, in which case you can’t see through the NEXT corner for another 15-20 seconds or whatever.

A trick I like is using crouch a lot. If the enemy team knows you’re alone chances are they are all hungry to get the kill before their team mates. Use mobility and run outside their radar range, crouch at a corner that they have to pass, and wait for an abush. Chances are if you leave their radar range they will spread out a little to cover possible escape routes.

Also, if you kill one guy you should already be anticipating back-up. So fight in areas that have few entry points and also areas that don’t leave you exposed to long range shots. Regeneration is a great ability for these kinds of scenarios.

The way I deal with campers is to camp somewhere that can’t be seen from their camping spot. Someone on their tem will get anxious enough to try something and, if not, at least you aren’t getting killed as much.

Anyone else have tips on how to position yourself, I already use Promethean Vision btw.

A good way of learning positioning etc, is watching how the good players do it. After a game, pick the top player (check kills first, don’t bother if they’re top because they were in the banshee the whole game), then go and be them in theatre.

Okay I’ll try that

Position yourself so that you always have at least one teammate near, even if it means following them around all game. If they die, back off and find someone else.

Since the individual skill gap is so small, you want to maximize your opportunities for teamshooting.

I’ll try that too, feel free to leave more tips.

I almost always play alone. Unless it’s my friend, cousins or my brother. I usually just jump in play.

While I’m not the best, I agree what the others have said. Crouch a lot… Don’t go running in and always stick to your teammates. I know you can’t always, especially if you die and are spawned halfway around the map… best advice is don’t run straight to the area they’re camping in, run around it and towards your teammates… then try to attack it together.

Also, What I like to do is to try to use the DMR or sniper from a distance, get some shots in to weaken them and then usually let the teammates do the running in. I’ve always been like that.

I think the main thing is patience and don’t just run into a room with 3-4 enemies, lol.

I agree with the grenades… in Halo3 and Reach, it seemed like when they were camping in an area, you could flush them out with grenades… now it seems like they’re a lot weaker and I hate how stickie grenades bounce now. I’ve thrown a ton that just bounce past the person, instead of stick on the ground where I threw it and blow up there, I guess that’ll take some getting used to. Hope it helps.

Woah, you can do this? You can watch players live streams in Theater? Like I could watch my buddy’s matches? How do you do thios/how does it work?

The best thing you can do is watch a lot of old MLG footage from past games on youtube or mlgpro.com. Look for names like Final Boos, Straight Rippin, Believe the Hype. Watch how they move around.

Some tips:
Keep your reticle aimed where it is most likely to have an enemy. If you are approaching a doorway, aim at the doorway, since they won’t be coming at you through the wall.

If you turn a corner and find that more than one person can see you, RUN. The most you will ever get is a trade, which is pointless. If none are looking, throw a grenade and try to clean one guy up but once they see you, regardless of whether you got a kill, get out of there.

Look at where your team is and predict the enemy Spawns. If your team is gathered around one third of the map and you are in a second, then the enemy will be spawning in the unoccupied portions (generally) and moving out on the routes connected to that area. Head to the other end of those routes ready to shoot.

Always be moving. This is much more important than in real Halo games. There is no need for map control in slayer gametypes anymore. Stick to the edges of the map (because then your back can be where there are likely to be no enemies) and keep moving around the edges in either direction. Don’t stay in one section of the map, unless it is part of staying alive, as detailed in the next point.

Staying alive is the key to getting a lot of kills. The kids who charge in straight lines death after death are the reason goo players get 40+ kills in BTB so often. Choose your fights well (point 2) and when you need to make sure you run. Get far enough away that your shields can recharge and let them recharge. This point, however, is much less important now with the lack of tactics/map/weapon control. You can always just hit instant respawn and continue your CoD sweep around the edges.

DON’T THROW A GRENADE in a gunfight. They are easy to dodge and almost never work. Keep shooting to the death or melee if appropriate. 3 shots and a beat down is enough. Use grenades to anticipate an enemy and make them an easier rifle kill, or to kill someone who is bad at running away (e.g. they hide behind a rock instead of actually running away). If you are losing a fight and need to run, after you get around the corner, dump a nade at that corner and keep running (or turn and fight if you think they will be hit by it). That is how you get away from good players because they know that they can’t walk through grenades and won’t chase. The bad kids get hit by it and are easy kills.

One more point: don’t reload obsessively. If your clip is at/above half full then you have plenty of ammo to either win or lose a fight. Especially in Swat, if they ever bring it back as a playlist. I can’t tell you how many times I get easy kills on enemies who reload after every kill. Make sure it is safe when you reload. Again, with the advent of Halo 4, this becomes less important as it is overall less important to stay alive.

These are some of my best tips. I wish you luck!

He means that if you get destroyed by someone who is good, then go watch the match you jsut played in Theatre. Use the D-pad to find that player (b should toggle labels and HUDs also) and you can watch how they do it.
