First off, I love how this game feels. I don’t even mind the progression, if you just do the challenges it’s not that hard to level up.
What’s missing in my opinion is more options for how we want to play. Not everyone enjoys objective based games, especially people who typically queue solo. We need SWAT for sure, that’s a staple of Halo multiplayer. Most of the current maps would play very well for SWAT
Playlists like Lone Wolves, Shotty Snipes, and just bare bones Slayer should definitely be an option.
I know it’s technically a “beta” but they have already stated what we have now is what we have for launch day as far as playlists are concerned.
It seemed in all the press 343 focused on making the Campaign enjoyable for various play styles, why not do the same for Multiplayer?
Where have they officially stated that this will be the playlist selection for the “official” launch? I tend to only believe official word but if they really intend on not having a FFA playlist that’s crap and will kill my enjoyment of the game. If you can’t add more playlists, at least give us MCC style game type filters.
They will no doubt add loads more over time. I imagine they want new players to get accustomed to some core maps and gametypes before overloading and splitting the community.
The fan favourites will return. Don’t forget the Fracture event will have its own dedicated playlist and that’s next week. Not sure what type of playlist it could be although I feel like there will be a lot of swords if it relates to the Yoroi armour
Would be great to have Lone Wolves and Swat, they are just fun. What isn’t fun is losing objective matches over and over because you’re the only person trying to do the objective. A straight up 4v4 Slayer is fun win or lose … I just want to shoot without objectives when my friends aren’t online, I need people that actually try to enjoy objective based games… all these years, all the money poured into the franchise since the beginning and they don’t even other the basics in a beta…
They added the bots, academy, training mode etc. for the new players. I’m not sure why they made the decision to cull some of the most popular modes, and not give us much playlist choice. Maybe this will change on December 8.
I agree, that’s me sometimes too. I’m not saying they need to take out what they have in, just add more. Like I said, I’m hoping they already have plans to add other modes and playlists sooner rather than later. I’d hate to have to wait months for modes like SWAT or Lone Wolves.
